Ricky Romero leaves the 2012 season on a sore note

Ricky Romero came out of today's game against the Yanks after three innings and 63 pitches with left leg soreness during the third inning as he fell off the mound awkwardly on his 61st pitch which was a ball to Andrew Jones with the bases juiced and one out and with so much practice at this John Farrell and the trainer came out immediately to check on him. He then took his practice throw and it was good enough for the Jays to allow him to his the third inning and on the next pitch he k'd Jones and then the pitch after that to Eduardo Nunez lined out to Adeiny Hechavarria to end the inning on a brillant play that took a couple of Ribs as from Nunez and the Yanks had a 2-1 lead. Romero walked two more to give him 106 on the season and he will end third most for a Jays pitcher in franchise history and gave up two runs after loading the bases allowing the first three batters to reach base with Jeter and Ichiro singing and A-Rod walking but he got out in good shape as Robinson Cano had a sac fly RBI and Curtis Granderson had a RBI sac fly and that was all the scoring they would do in a 3-2 Jays victory but he did loaded the bases again in the third and got out of it without given up a run and he left the game given up 6 hits and did battle to stay in the game but the train did not let him. Rajai Davis slammed his 8Th homer a solo shot with one out and cut the lead to 2-1 and behind a masterful pitching performance Mississauga own Shawn Hill who pitched three innings of no-hit ball as he walked two but did not give up a hit tied it up with a infield hit Rajai Davis which was his 7Th straight hit as with runners on the corners hit a soft ground ball to A-Rod that he beat out for a RBI in the fifth. Yanks starter Andy Pettitte got into even more trouble in the sixth as Yunel Escobar walked and was driven to second a Yan Gomez single and moved to third on a fly ball by Moses Sierra was driven home by Adeiny Hechavarria double to give the Jays the winning run 3-2 but they still had more base-running errors as Gomez took to wide of a turn at third and was caught to end the inning. It was not the only baserunning blunder as Yunel was caught leaning to third after a double as Moses Sierra lined to A-rods and he throw to Cano to double up Ecobar. The winning hit off reliever Jobba Chamberlain stretched his hitting streak to 10 games while Pettitte went 5.2 and gave 3 runs on 5 hits but hurt badly by walking three along the way. Rajai Davis had three hits and Casey Janssen picked up his 21 save of the season Tom Mehegan
