Jays lose to Soxs in the ninth

The game came down to Steve Delabar against the Red Soxs as he came into the game with the scored tied at 2-2 with one out in the eighth with two runners in scoring position and and Dustin Pedroia walked to load the bases but after falling behind Cody Ross 4-0 and he battled back to strike him out for the second out of the inning and then got James Loney to pop up to Kelly Johnson to end the inning. Delabar came back in the ninth still in a 2-2 tie but gave up a lead off double to Jarrod Saltalamacchia and then once again battled back to strike out Ryan Lavarnway and got Mike Aviles to fly out to Anthony Gose in center field for out number 2 and Saltalamacchia tagged and moved to third and Delabar was an out away from getting through the ninth still tied except that Pedro Ciriaco came up with the big hit of the game with a hit down the third baseline for a RBI double and the Soxs won 3-2. Daniel Nava really put a wrench into the Jays plans to get a big jump on the Soxs in the second with one out and runners on the corners in a 1-1 game Anthony Gose hit a ball to him that should of been a RBI hit and instead Kelly Johnson was stuck at third for Rajai Davis who hit a ball to the wall and Nava robbed him of a two-rbi extra base hit. The Jays put together a rally with two outs in the bottom of the first with two outs started by a Edwin Encarnacion walk and then Adam Lind made them pay a double to put two runners in scoring position for Yunel Escobar who actually came through with a huge hit scoring Edwin but Adam Lind tried to score on the play and was out by a mile and a half so a base running error cost the Jays maybe a big inning. With the Jays down 2-1 in the fifth inning and they used their speed to score a run to tie the game as Anthony Gose singled and stole second and then Rajai Davis reached on a fielding error on third baseman Pedro Ciriaco and then Brett Lawrie moved the runners up to second and third but the Soxs loaded the bases by walking Edwin for the second of three times and Adam Lind scored Gose on a shallow fly ball . The thing of this inning was that it looked like Brett Lawerie bunt on his own and then Farrell had to explain why he should of been swings instead and it was weird moment as one second he is high fiving everybody and then needing to listen to Farrell tell him what he did wrong. Carlos Villanueva pitched very well getting into the eighth given up 2 runs on 4 hits and two walks while he k'd 6 and his big problem was Cody Ross who smacked a lead-off homer in the second to go 5 for 7 against Villanueva with two homers and then walked on a pitch that Villanueva and camera both felt that he had k'd Ross to end the inning but he was awarded first on a walk and two singles later he scored on a Jarrod Saltalamacchia RBI single. Clay Buchholz did not work into the ninth like last weekend but did get the ball to bullpen for the eighth and was hurt by 5 walks and two fielding errors and gave up 2 runs (one earned) on 4 hits and k'd 5 Jays. Jays need Morrow to help avoid the sweep Tom Mehegan
