Omar Visquel passes the Babe on the hit list

Omar Visquel had a two hit game and in the process he passed the legendary Babe Ruth in hits with 2,874 hits in his 24 major league season and he is 41st in hits all-time in major league baseball. He tied Babe Ruth with a single in the fourth and passed his with a RBI double in the eighth to cut a Yanks 3-0 lead to 3-2 as the Jays put up a two spot in the eighth on their way to a 4-2 victory with a Nick Swisher RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. The Jays put Henderson Alvarez on the mound to start the game and he was born just over a year after Omar Visquel major league debut and he did not come out prepared for the Yanks and he gave up hits to the first 3 batters he faced including a RBI double to Robinson Cano and after the first it was 3-0 Yanks. Alvarez retired 21 of his last 22 batters to finish the game after the first three batters and gave up two singles to Ichiro Suzuki at bottom of the third and then Robinson Cano singled in the sixth inning and was erased when he tried to steal second as A-Rod struck out and Jeff Mathis hit A-Rod on his follow through and Cano was called out at second because of the interference by A-Rod. After the first inning he pitched very well not walking a batter and gave up 3 runs on 5 hits with 7ks through a 7 inning performance. Andy Pettitte pitched for the Yanks for the first time in three weeks and he went 5 innings for the win and did not give up a run on 4 hits and 2 walks along with 3ks and then they used 6 relief pitchers to get the job done. Rafael Soriano came in for a four out save to clean up David Robertson mess with Kelly Johnson who came off the bench and hit a RBI single in the eighth and was the tying run at third and Omar was the go ahead run at second and after walking Anthony Gose to bases loaded but got Rajai Davis to line out sharply to Ichiro to end the eighth. Adeiny Hechavarria and Adam Lind had two hits like Omar Visquel Tom mehegan
