Brandon Morrow was unable to leave the field under his own power
Brandon Morrow pitched extremely well as he pitched 6.1 and k'd 8 O's and he gave up 2 walks along with a run on 4 hits and he gave up two of his four hits in the second inning along with a RBI single to Ryan Flaherty and then was untouchable until the seventh inning as gave up one hit and hitting Adam Jones in the hand over the next four innings as he retired 10 straight batters. When it came to the seventh inning the four and finally hit he gave up was hurt him hard as it was a laser hit up the middle by Wilson Betemit that hit Morrow on his right shin and tried to walk it off but was unable to walk off the field under his own power and took the air out of the 4-1 victory to sweep away the O's. He sent for X-rays on his right shin and it came back negative which is good but of course he is now day to day and that worries me until he is on a mound pitching in the majors and it could be Wednesday or Thursday of next week but with the shin contusion on his right leg it could be a couple of weeks until he gets on a mound and a couple of appearances in double A and it could be a month. This is because day-to-day is slang for I don't know how long it will take and in Toronto these things drag on a very long time.
The Jays hitters crushed the O's Jason Hammel who actually pitched further into the game as he got two outs in seventh but he came in given up 3 homers in 55 innings and tonight in his outing he gave up 4 solo homers to Edwin Encarnacion (second inning), Rajai Davis (third inning), Brett Lawrie (fourth inning), and Colby Rasmus (fifth inning) and the first three were lead off homers while Rasmus hit his with one out. The Jays collected 9 hits off him with Omar Visquel and Encarnacion picking up two each in the game as Escobar was the only Jays not to reach base as Bautista with 0 for 2 but had two walks in the game.
Casey Janssen picked up another save (5 on the season) as he gave up a walk that was erased on some great fielding at first by Encarnacion who stepped on the bag for one and throw down to second to get Adam Jones whose hit streak ends at 20 games.
The Jays ended up getting over 52 thousand for the series which is four or five thousand more than they would usually get for a mid-week series

Brett Lawrie day at the ball park was amazing including his fan club
Brett Lawrie's fan club was in attendance in great numbers as they organized themselves to spell out LAWRIE with a heart at the end it was the most incredible thing to see as it must of taken a few people (most likely young ladies) to organize all the people in that empty area up in the 500 section to position themselves to create the letters and the heart. When Morrow and Hutchison called Lawrie over and pointed at the 5 deck he was taken a back by it and then just had to smile at what he was looking at.
Brett Lawrie took this motivation to heart as he put together a three hit night and helped the Jays to take a 8-1 lead after five innings with three RBIs as he had two singles built around a two-run double as he started the game 3 for 3. He also lead the bottom three of the order as they went 8 for 12 and had 8 of the 10 Jays hits in the game as David Cooper had two hits and a RBI as he is becoming the first baseman of the Jays for the time being and Rajai Davis who is now the left fielder for the Jays as Eric Thames was sent down to Las Vegas had 3 hits and two RBIs in the game. The Orioles fielding really helped the Jays get the big lead as they simply ran over the ball time after time and were charged with 3 errors and the O's starter allowed 7 runs (6 earned) on 6 hits and 3 walks. While the O's catcher Matt Wieters was tossed from the game in the bottom of the fifth after challenging Doug Eddings the home plate ump on strike calls or more realistically the non strike calls.
Ricky Romero pitched well through the first five innings with the only damage he suffered was an Adam Jones solo homer in the second inning and then in the sixth inning he was a little cold after sitting to long on the bench and allowed three runs as he gave up a single, a double, and a two-run homer by Chris Davis and made it through sixth solid inning and gave up four runs on 6 hits and had 7 ks and only had a single walk after having 21 in his last four starts as he throw 66 strikes in the 101 pitches he throw.
The Jays bullpen was struggling a lot with Jason Frasor loading the bases in the seventh inning and got out of it without given up a run as Ronny Paulino who replaced Wiether and grounded out to end the inning. Darren Oliver allowed two singles to the only two hitters he faced and then Francisco Cordero faced three hitters and got out of the inning and did not allow one of Oliver's runners to score. Casey Janssen allowed 4 of his first 5 batters he faced to reached base including an Adam Jones two-run homer and with one out and runners on first and second with one out Chris Davis popped up in foul ground and Lawrie ran over from like shortstop to make the catch and settle everyone down as Wilson Betemit grounded out to Escobar who stepped on second base.
Lawrie fan club is amazing

Jays beat down the O's as friends hopefully enjoyed going to the game with me
Me and my friends went to the Jays game together tonight and was a Jays beat down on the O's for eight innings as like David Copper walk up song stated "can't stop" and that was what the Jays did with their bats as can'y beating up the baseball to the tune of 12 hits as Kelly Johnson was nearly a single away from a cycle as he could of turned his first inning into a triple if went all out as he went 3 of 4 with a two-run homer. The Jays can't stop putting up runs in the first four innings as Colby Rasmus had a RBI single in the first, Kelly Johnson had a RBI ground out in the second, Edwin Encarnacion hit a two-run homer in the third, and Kelly Johnson had a two-run homer in the fourth and took a 6-0 all the to the top of the ninth.
All the Jays starters got a hit except Jose Bautista with David Cooper and Colby Rasmus both had two-hits in the game and Tommy Hunter gave up 6 runs (5 earned) on 9 hits in three plus inning and really could not do anything right.
Jays starter Drew Hutchison pitched 7 shutout innings but he did have his hiccup inning which was the third inning where he gave up three walks and a single but with the help of catcher Jeff Mathis who throw a throw down to third as O's runner on second Chris Davis was in no man's land and was caught in a run down and after loading the bases on walks but he fielded his position on a Nick Markakis ground ball up the middle and git him out with a throw to Cooper to end the inning. Hutchison gave up three hits and 4 walks and k'd and he had it smooth the the other 6 innings as he throw 57 of his 91 pitches in those innings for strikes (62.6%) but in the third inning he throw 8 of his 23 pitches for strikes (34.7%).
One of my friends got a lot worried of disaster in the ninth and a little bored along with not watching any more of Francisco Cordero who faced 5 batters and four of them hit the into play which were all hits and he gave up two runs and my friends left the game. Thankfully Casey Janssen was ready to come in and closed the door on the O's picking up the save as he got Robert Andino to line out softly to Kelly Johnson and on the next pitch he got Nick Johnson to hit a ground ball to Cooper who tossed to Janssen to end the game and give the Jays a 6-2 victory.
I took a lot of ribbing with popcorn in my beard and that I am simply naturally loud and that is why I like to go to baseball games and that is a diffidently a fun part of the game.
I saw Omar Vizquel comw out of gate 7 and hand a lady a bat and balls in a plastic bag for some sort of auction that was cool

Jays catchers need brighter mitts as they come home with a single win in a week
The Jays pitching has now walked 197 batters and hit 17 batters which is 214 free passes in 47 games and that is why too much if U want to win as it is 4.6 a game which is once every other inning. So it may be time to get the catchers nice bright orange or yellow catching mitts as they are not see their target because if they were then pitchers like Romero and Drabek would be leading the teams in innings pitched instead of walks as they can have real unhittable stuff but if it is not find the plate then it will not work.
Today the Jays and Kyle Drabek got rock again and Drabek pitched three innings and walked three but was extremely hittable as he gave up 8 hits. He cruised for the first but whwn the second came around he was unable to find the plate as he gave up a single and 3 walks to the first 5 batters of the inning and unlike in Tampa he gave up hits so it got worst as the fifth batter Mitch Moreland walked in a run and then sixth (Ian Kinsler) and the seventh batter (Elvis Andrus) both doubled in two and finally the ninth batter (Adrian Beltre) crushed a two-run shot and the Rangers sent 11 batters to the plate and put up a 7 spot. Ian Kinsler finished off Drabek with a two run shot in the third as Drabek gave up 9 runs in the game in his home state of Texas and the Jays come crawling home as they went 1 and 5 on their week long road trip.
The Jays had their chances in the 12-6 beat down as in the third they were only able to get a single run with first and second with one out as Bautista grounded out for the RBI and then in the fourth inning the lead off hitter J.P. Arencibia hit his first of two solo shots in the game and if the Jays had gotten to him in the third with runners on base it would of been a lot closer than 7-1 but those are the breaks the Jays are not getting right now. In the fifth the Jays got their first three batters on including an Edwin Encarnacion rbi single but Thames grounded into a double play and J.P. who has moved down a spot grounded out.
The Rangers put up another 3 runs in the seventh as Nelson Cruz had a RBI double and that was followed by a Mitch Moreland two-run shot the third two-run shot but the Jays got those three runs back as J.P. hit a solo homer in the eighth and Rasmus hit a two-run shot in the ninth as both teams had three homers and the Rangers had all two-run shots while the Jays had only one two-run shot.
Jose Baustista has a bad habit and the team needs to stop copying it
Jose Bautista is a great role model on the field with his work ethics and undying interest in becoming a better player as he takes extra fielding practice to get better at fielding his position in Left field. When the Jays had a gaping hole the size of Canadian at third base last year until Brett Lawrie was ready Bautista took one for the team and played third base for 25 games and 48 games the season before work hard to steady the position for that time and 1 error at third base in 2011 after having 7 in 2010. He is also a leader with the bat because two and a half seasons he has gotten on base and crushed baseballs to leader charges to victories.
The really only extremely bad habit he has is when he is struggling which has not been a lot over the hot spot of his career but since the 2011 all-star game until this month he has not been himself it maybe that dam home run derby (talk to Alex Rios about that) or pitchers simply started to pitch him differently and he had to make adjustments to his hitting zone. Either way when he has looked at a strike or a strike called he will walk away from the plate or turn to the home plate ump and given his two cents or just staring at him and when he called out on strikes he has had a lot to say to the ump and when he gets back to the dugout along with when gets under a pitch he will get frustrated and get made at his bat.
When I started seeing this last season I only hoped that the rest of the team will not follow him in this habit as he has a tone of good qualities that Jays should pick up but this is a horrible quality and may fears have become reality as more and more Jays players are expecting the calls to go in their favor every time and right now they need to be walking on egg shells because the slightest thing is going against them.
The reality is this season has been about nearly getting the job done but at the last moment faving it turn on them like in this past series in Tampa had a great chance to win the series but lost the last two games and had a chance last night to even the series with the Rangers but bullpen was missed managed and they lose in 13. Also their last home stand they go 4-3 and losing the last game when a 5-2 home was exactly what they needed and they had their chances in the two games against Tampa at home and lost both or the Royals/O's road trip of 4-3 which was a complete disaster as they swept as the Royals in four and then went to Baltimore and simply a game or two would of made the trip but they got swept and gained their fielding woes.

Jays battle for 13 innings but run out of fuel in the end
So the Jays got through another frustration Henderson Alvarez first inning as they were down 2-0 after the Rangers first at bat as the Rangers first two batters reached on a double (Ian Kinsler) and a non throw by Henderson himself (Elvis Andrus) and they scored as Henderson settled down by getting the next batters in order with a pass ball charged to J.P.. Then in the next four innings he gave up 5 hits and a walk and battled back and did not allow another run to score as the Jays battled back in the game starting with third inning with two on and no out for the heart of the order of Rasmus (hitting second), Bautista, and Encarnacion and the runners did get moved over but in fifth Rasmus delivered a two-run homer off the fair/foul pole to tie the game. Then in the sixth David Cooper and Omar Vizquel both had RBI single to give the Jays a 4-2 and Henderson Alvarez got to quick outs in the bottom of the sixth but Nelson Cruz stepped up and hit a 1-0 pitch into the seats, Yorvit Torrealba hit a 1-0 pitch into the seats, and finally Mitch Moreland hit a 3-1 pitch into the seats to give the Rangers back-to-back-to-back homers to take a 5-4 lead. Then it very strange but because Henderson Alvarez got ahead of Ian Kinsler 0 and 2 or that he throw a 1 and 2 pitch inside after Kinsler had fouled off a pitch and it was not that Kinsler jumped away from the pitch but it was that home plate ump Marty Foster throw Alvarez out of the game for pitch that did not hit Kinsler and did not come even close to hitting him and there had not been any worryings dished out with the only reason to throw him out was because of the three homers in a row and it happened on the 5 pitch of the at bat. This gotten even stranger when Kinsler was hit to lead off the ninth and Craig Gentry both by Casey Janssen and he allowed to pitch after both of the hit batters as J.P. singled Bautista home to tie the game in the seventh.
The Jays battled to take another lead in 13th inning on another RBI single by Omar Vizquel and then he scored on a miss catch by Nelson Cruz on a fly ball by Yunel Escobar to give the Jays a 7-5 lead. In the bottom of the inning Ryota Igarashi came in and walked Kinsler and he was doubled home by Elvis Andrus and Josh Hamilton won the game when Jason Frasor came in and Hamilton unloaded on his 20th homer of season who was the only hitter Frasor faced.
I do not understand why Farrell used him bullpen because Luis Perez only pitched an inning and a pitch and in a tie ball game with a short bullpen he should of scratched him out for two or three innings and if he wanted to use Janssen why not wait it later and Cordero could of been that pitcher behind Darren Oliver who pitched 2.1 innings because it does just does not make scents as U left two pitchers who had thrown over 40 pitches the night before as your last line of defense. Why was Ryota Igarashi not optioned out for a fresh arm with that short bullpen it of been an easy decision and will likely optioned tonight so the Jays have someone in the pen behind Kyle Drabek tomorrow in hopes of getting a second victory on this week long road trip.
It looks like a pitchers duel tomorrow between Kyle and Yu

Brandon Morrow did not help the Jays in Texas
Brandon Morrow pitched his shortest start in his career as he only got two outs and faced 10 batters and gave up 6 runs on 5 hits and gave up three walks including the first two Ranger's batters and 3 of the first 6 batters. The Rangers got key hits in the inning as Adrian Beltre had a two-run single, Nelson Cruz had a three-run double, and Mitch Moreland had a RBI single and Rangers took a 6-0 lead and Cruzed to a 14-3 victory that was capped off by Nelson Cruz hitting his second grand slam of the season in the seventh inning off Jason Frasor and he ended up with four hits and 8 RBIs. Morrow will need to put this start out of his mind immediately and when he starts in the finale of the O's series on Wednesday he comes out pitches like he has most of the season.
The Rangers starters all reached base in the game and Mitch Moreland was the only Rangers starter to not score a run but he still had three hits which was the same as Micheal Young, and Adrian Beltre as the Rangers ended up with 18 hits and the Jays ate hoping that the Rangers have gotten all their hits out in the first of three against the Rangers.
The Jays walked 7 more batters and are a run away leader of given up 189 walks in their 46 games as they came into the game tied with the Padres with 182 and Padres had only 4 walks in their game and the Jays lead now by 3 walks.
The Jays bullpen was tired out for the first real time this season as Carlos Villaneuva pitched 4.1 innings and will not be able to pitch until the Jays arrive home on Monday and Ryota Igarashi became the third Jays player from Japan and he pitched a very long inning and probably headed back to the Minors and bring back Crawford who was sent down and maybe an extra just in case the Jays need more long relieve in the last two games of the series.
Jose Bautista had a two-run single to himself 23 RBIs in May which is second to Josh Hamilton's 25 RBIs and Edwin had a solo homer and maybe the Jays will be able to build off Bautista's eighth inning hit.
Jays have played well against the Rangers and Alvarez hopefully pitches well in the heat

Jays allow Rays to walk away with the series
Jays took a 1-0 lead against the Rays on a Jose Bautista but Ricky Romero was not able to find the strike zone as throw 105 pitches and faced a batter in the seventh and throw 54 strikes and walked 7 Rays batters and it started early as he walked two in the first inning and both scored to give the Rays a 2-1 lead. In the third inning Carlos Pena was hit by Romero and scored on a Matt Joyce ground and the only Ray to get a hit and score was B.J. Upton on a Luke Scott ground out to give the Rays a 4-1 lead.
The Rays kept the lead until Yunel Gomez had a RBI sac fly in the fifth and Edwin Encarnacion hit a two-run homer in the eighth his 14th on the season to tie the game at 4 and went into extra innings where in the bottom of the 11th inning Rich Thompson was hit by a Darren Oliver pitch and with one out B.J. Upton cashed him in for a 5-4 Rays win to make it 15 straight series in Tampa that the Jays have lost to the Rays.
The Rays gave up 7 hits but they also gave up 12 free passes and four of the five Rays runs that scored got on base by a free pass as two walks and two hit batters scored and it began with Ricky Romero who had 7 walks and a hit batter and only gave up two hits. So it is extremely head stretching that Ricky Romero is so lost trying to find the plate and today it cost them the series win because if he did not walk so many Rays it would of been the pitchers duel that was excepted between Romero and Jake Shields who gave up 7 hits over 7.1 innings but it really only Bautista as Bautista scored 2 of the three runs the Jays got off of him and Edwin Encatrnacion's two-run digger should of been a crushing blow to the Rays in the game.
Romero also had 7 of the Jays 13 Ks in the game and it was another wasted good performances by the three/four hitters who had both had 2 of the Jays 10 hits and both had a homer.
Jays are heading to Arlington for a weekend series

Jays hit hard by Rays
The Blue Jays did not have a 1-2-3 inning in the game as they got a hit in every inning they batted in and Drew Hutchison kept every some what in order going into the bottom of the fourth as the Rays only lead 1-0 on a Luke Scott homer in the second. In the fourth inning the wheels came off and the Rays put up a 5 spot with the crushing blow being Carlos Pena three-run homer to make it 6-0 as they also collected a RBI double from Drew Sutton who seemed to be everywhere in the last 48 hours as he was traded to Pittsburgh and was on his way to Buffalo in triple A and then he was told that he was traded again and was needed in Tampa and tonight he had two of the Rays 14 hits in the game. Also in the fourth Brett Lawrie who in his second game back barehanded a ball and made it impossible for J.P. to tag the runner coming home which made it 3-0 and in the eighth he lost his head again as he slide into second base on a Yan Gomez fly ball and stepped over the bag and did not retouch it and the Rays challenged the play and he was called out and no real fire works happened.
The Jays made it interesting in the top of the fifth with a 4 spot to make it 6-4 with help from the Rays pitcher Matt Moore after walking the lead-off hitter Colby Rasmus got to force outs and then walked the bases loaded to bring up Jose Bastista who had a great night as he had a two-run single as apart of his three hit night. Then Edwin Encarnacion hit a ground ball to Sean Rodriguez who should of been the third out but instead the throw to first is air mailed and misses Pena and then Ben Zobrist gets the ball and misses everybody and is charged with his first error as an outfielder which was a stretch of over 200 games and in the end two unearned runs scored. Still in the top of the fifth J. P. Arencibia stepped to the plate against relief pitcher and flies out to end the inning and Moore throw 58 pitches over the first four innings and then 39 in two-thirds of an inning in the fifth.
Jays every time they got on the board the Rays would answer with a two out hit as Chris Gimenez had a RBI single in the fifth to make it 7-4 and when Yan Gomez hit a solo homer in the sixth B.J. Upton answered with his own solo homer in the sixth which was actually a homer to make the final 8-5 Rays.

Jays win a weird one against the Rays
It was very weird crazy night especially early and it began so innocently enough as with one out in the bottom of the first B.J. Upton hit a ball that Colby Rasmus was camped under it for out two but instead it hit the third of four catwalks above the field and it came down a little in front of Colby and B.J. was standing on second. This is where things got very weird as it turned out that if a ball hit off the third catwalk it was ruled a homer so the Umps went under the stadium to view the hit and came back and said to John Farrell that it was out of his hands and it was a solo homer.
This was a problem for Jays starter Kyle Drabek as it took 5 minutes to review the play and he was wild as he walked his first of 6 batters he walked in the game and in the top of the second inning with Edwin on first and J.P. up and he hit a ground ball to Sean Rodriguez who throw out Edwin out at second but Will Rhymes throw the ball away and J.P. was standing on second when the play was over and scored on an Eric Thames RBI single but was tagged out to end the inning when Jose Molina throw behind him to second baseman Will Rhymes who was covering first but it was tied going into the bottom of the second. The Jays took the lead on a lead offColby Rasmus double and it was followed by to sac flies to score and give the Jays a 2-1 lead.
Kyle Drabek was extremely wild in the third as he walked two and throw three wild pitches and he gave up his second run on his second hit which was a Sean Rodriguez RBI single so the Rays were tied @ 2 and only had 2 hits in the game. Drabek walked a batter in the fourth and fifth but they did get a hit including walking Jose Molina for the second time in the game in the fourth and Drabek gave up his third and final hit to Will Rhymes who was doubled up on a double play. Drabek was unhittable in the game and that is why the six walks and 3 wild pitches did not cost him as he really only gave up two hits as B.J. "homer" was a total fly ball and with Yunel Escobar's second homer of the season to deep center field in the sixth gave Drabek his fourth win of the season.
In the eighth the Rays throw the ball away and the Jays got three more unearned runs as with runners on first and second Yunel hit a dribbler past tje mound and the Rays pitcher Burke Badenhop could not recover the ball and it was bases loaded for Bautista hit a double play ball to Sean Rodriguez at third but he throw it into the outfield and two-run scored and then Edwin Encarnacion grounds into a force play and another run scored to make the final 6-2.
Brett Lawrie in his return after his four game suspension had weirdness happening to him as a fan behind the plate decided to yell and scream at him throughout his every at bat and he was so loud it drowned out the radio and TV announce teams during the at bats as hw went 0 for 4 with a strikeout.

Jays fell behind and could not recover to win five in a row
With Henderson Alvarez on the mound for the Jays they fell behind in the first inning as Alvarez allowed the first three batters to reach base and David Wright finished it off with a two-run double to give the Mets a 2-0 lead and then got three straight outs except that on a
Kirk Nieuwenhuis sinking line drive that Rasmus made a web jam catch but relaxed his glove and the ball fell to the turf for a RBI double as he needed to transfer ball to his bare hand to signal the out and it was the difference in the 6-5 Mets victory.
In the bottom of the first against Dillon Gee Kelly Johnson doubled and Yunel Escobar walked but then Bautista, Encarnacion, and J.P. were unable to move the runners over and even get a run and it happened again in the ninth when Yunel Escobar and Bautista singled but Frank Francisco stuck out Encarnacion, J.P., and Thames swinging in a row to end the game and give Francisco getting his 10th save of the season.
After Alvarez gave up another run in the second he then retired 7 in a row and gave up a double bit it was stranded at second but in the fifth as the first 6 batters reached base including Daniel Murphy had a RBI single and Ike Davis RBI ground out into a force out and it gave the Mets a 6-2 lead. Bautista had RBI single in the seventh to get the Jays within 3 and it went with his third inning lead-off homer and the Jays got two more runs in the eighth with Eric Thames getting a RBI double and Colby Rasmus getting an RBI single to get them with in a run.
The Jays just could not get thr hit with a runner in scoring position and it changes a 5 game win streak and a 5-2 home stand and instead had an OK 4-3 home stand and it was not getting one of the games against the Rays that cost them huge especially against David Price and now need to go into Tampa and get a win or two from the Rays.
It was a good time at the ticket office as they had more than 100,000 fans in the stands for the three-game series and the bobble head crazy kept going as over 40,000 tried to get the 20,000 bobble heads

Morrow pitches 8 amazing innings and it almost fell apart in the ninth
Brandon Morrow pitched a complete game three hitter and sadly that will most likely not be the story of the game as the Second Base Ump Brian Knight clearing did not see Yunel Escobar glove as he whiffed at tagging Mike Baxter who hit a ball into the right field corner and Jose Bautista got the ball back into the infield and Escobar missed completely as U probably a paper or two into the space between the glove and the runner. So give Yunel Escobar credit he sold it perfectly and it was two man on third in a 2-0 game instead of second and third one out and then it would of been very interesting what Farrell would of done because Casey Janssen was in the bullpen waiting to see if he was needed and I would of hoped in that situation that he went to the bullpen as Morrow was at 102 pitches and was looking like he was fighting himself to complete maybe it was the lead off four pitch walk and a double along with Janssen being so good at closing recently talking to me even though it would of been the toughest situation he would of been in since being named the closer. Morrow did get Daniel Murphy line out hard but right to Yunel Escobar to end the game and 8 strike outs and only one walk in the game and is now 5-2 on the season and right now the best Jays pitcher as in 5 of 9 starts he has given 1 or less walks in the game abd pitched at least 6.2 in all those games.
The question will be why did the Umps get together like in Anaheim when Bautista was clearly hit by a pitch and the home plate ump missed it completely and the third base ump told him it hit him and he got the base so could the umps today not put their heads together and have the first base ump Wally Bell say I saw it he missed it was not even close to Brian Knight and if at that point Knight stick to his guns and still call him out then that is his choice not a good choice but his choice none the less except that the meeting did not happen. Also Baxter handled himself very well basically pointed and said he did not tag me and got heated with his manger that he did not tag as the manager picked up his cause.
Now if anyone wondering if the Jays would get a call in their favor after the Brett Lawrie incident there it was

Rajai Davis had a career game and J.P. was a monster
Rajai Davis who had 11 homers and 157 RBIs in his 597 games in MLB career before tonight game and tonight he had a career game to say the least as went deep twice and drove 4 RBIs in a Jays wipe washing of the Mets 14-5.
It felt like an opening day for J.P. Arencibia who went deep twice as he had 6 RBIs and he added a two-run single to go with a three-run homer to get the Jays on the board in the first and had a lead of homer in the third inning.
Yan Gomez hit his first career homer to add on his sac fly RBI and the Jays scored in 5 of the first 6 inning and the Jays were very well in control as they lead 14-1 with the five homers and then the Mets put together an inning in the eighth against Evan Crawford who was off as he walked his first batter and then hit Justin Turner and some how he was hurt and continued by getting a fly out and then Luis Perez came in and walked the bases loaded and then got a ground ball and a run scored and then Scott Hairston hit a three-run shot to close the inning.
Ricky Romero was throwing strikes in the first as he throw 14 strikes in his 20 pitches and then in his sixth and his final inning he throw 13 strikes in his 16 pitches but in-between he throw 63 pitches in the middle four innings and throw only 33 for strikes. He walked 4 more batters and gave up only a run on 3 hits and he is now 5-1 and it is shocking to see him pitching nowhere near his best yet and when he gets righted he will have an amazing record by end of the season maybe not Halladay but close.
It was an extremely interesting crowd as it was like a college feel to it and I helped start it when I looked around and saw a look of empty seats and their was almost no walk i.e. I went right to a ticket window less than a hour before first pitch so I said out loud that the Mets did not have the Yankees fan base as the night before there was over 30 thousand. This started a game long bashing of the Mets fans with loud chants "Mets suck" and they got booed when they stood up and other people mentioned that it was a much smaller crowd than the Yankees series and the 26 thousand plus really showed up late and was two thousand less than Wednesday and four thousand less than Thursday but still a decent crowd and hopefully it will be even better tomorrow with the Kids day and the one O'clock.
IT was a great game now it is Morrow on the mound tomorrow and in bubble head on Sunday which will still be a mess even with 20,000 of them

Jays sweep away the Yankees
Drew Hutchison pitched six innings of 5 hit ball but did walk and k'd 3 but only gave up a single run as when got into trouble he was able to stay composed and left 7 runners on base and did not allow the Yankees to get a hit with a runner in scoring position as they 0 for 9 with runners in scoring position. The Bullpen was perfect tonight as they retired all 9 batters they faced with Jason Frasor pitching the seventh, Darren Oliver pitching the eighth, and Casey Janssen came in and closed the door on a Blue Jays 4-1 victory to pick-up his third straight save.
The bats were booming again tonight as they had nine hits as Jose Bautista muscled his way over the .200 mark as he had another two-hit game and had another homer that was still not hit as far as his foul off the pitch before that landed in the 500 level but he still has 5 homers in the last week and now has 10 on the season and it looks like he is just getting started.
The Jays fans welcomed Yan Gomez to the majors and he is the first Brazilian born Major league baseball player and he made his mark by getting two singles after striking out in his major league first at bat and came very close to scoring on the first and getting a RBI the second time but it looks like he will be playing third for the series against the Mets as Lawrie taken his medicine and sitting out the series.
J.P. Arencibia with the Adam Lind to Las Vegas story moved up to fifth in the order and hit his fifth homer a two-run shot to give him 20 RBIs and is hitting .243 which is simply amazing as he was hitting well under .100 in late April and is now the fourth Blue Jay to get 20 RBIs is season with Encarnacion (34(, Kelly Johnson (21), and Bautista (21).
Yunel Escobar had another two hit night while Omar Vizquel was brought into play third in the eighth and the first pitch Darren Oliver throw was hit to Omar's right and dove and snagged it before it hit the ground for a great catch.

Adam Lind sent down and Lawrie take his medicine and sit for 4
Adam Lind has been sent down to Las Vegas to join the 51s as he has been struggling at the plate as he batted .186 with only 3 homers and 11 RBIs with 14 walks and 24 Ks in 34 games and he will be needing to go down and fix his confidence and fine tune his hitting stroke and he probably be back around the all-star break. He has not been working well as a clean-up hitter and hopefully will be nowhere near clean-up when he comes back to Toronto and he has been taken his struggles to the infield where his former awesome glove has a lot of holes in it and has 5 errors over at first with 2 of them in his last game in the field and his fielding hopefully gets better down with the 51s.
To replace Adam Lind they have called up Yan Gomes and in 33 games he is batting .359 with 5 homers and 22 RBIs with 12 doubles with 26 Ks and only 6 walks. He will be right now the third baseman for the next four games as Brett Lawrie will be sitting out until the Jays head to Tampa on Monday as he will be serving his four game suspension for his outburst and helmet throwing competition on Tuesday night.
To replace Lind at first will be Edwin Encarnacion who has a hot bat and is better at first then he was at the beginning of last season and was able to keep a wild throw from Lawrie in front of him with a diving stab. To Replace Encarnacion at DH will most likely be Ben Francisco who has been hitting (5 of 24) with only one extra base hit which is a double and has been walked 2 and was k'd 5 times. If Francisco does not hit and Gomes does he will become the DH or Valdy is ready at some point then he will become the DH for the Jays.
The Jays world continues to turn very strangely

Kyle Drabek pitches amazing and Bautista hits the fastest homer of the season
Kyle Drabek came into tonight's game in almost a must win as he came in with a four game losing streak and he was on for all 7 innings he pitched as he only gave up 3 hits and four walks. Even when he lost control of the strike zone in the seventh and walked two he settled down got the next three batters with help from the ump to start as he called Jayson Nix (yes the guy may have ended Mariono Rivera's career) was called out at second when he was clearly at the bag before Kelly Johnson as he was way off the base in a right field oriented position for the hitter Curtis Granderson and Johnson was closer to first than second. Through the first five innings he only faced 4 extra batters and gave up a single through five inning and then in the sixth he gave up a double to Robinson Cano (300th in his career) and he scored on a Mark Teixeira RBI single which was his 1500th hit in his career and the the only run the Yankees scored and was the last hit the Yankees had in the game. Drabek throw in his curve ball that working well and missed up the batters and it help his other pitches especially the fast ball get by them as he had 5 strike outs and he had 13 ground ball outs to 2 fly ball outs in the game.
J.P. Arencibia started the home tun fun with a two-run homer in the second inning and followed that up with a double in the fourth and scored a run on Kelly Johnson RBI single that was followed up with a single sixth and then he came up in the eighth with a chance at a cycle with a triple but ended up striking out.
So Jose Bautista according to ESPN hit the quickest homer so far on the season at 117 mph in the fifth inning his 9 on the season and also scored after walking in the third and scoring on a three run shot by Edwin Encarnacion wgucg was his 13rg of the season. The fourth and finally homer in the game to make the final 8-1 in the seventh was from Kelly Johnson who hit a lead off homer which was his 100 homer in his career.
Luis Perez walked two batters in the eighth and it was the only sore spot in the game for the Jays as they walked 6 Yankees but none scored and the Jays had no errors in the game and Francisco Cordero pitched a 1,2,3 ninth inning as the Jays out hit the Yankees 11-3.

Brett Lawries's over the top personality cost the error filled Jays
In the bottom of the ninth Brett Lawrie looked like he had never played professional baseball in his life as on a 3 and 1 count on a ball way off the plate he is already fair'foul chalk line heading down to first base before the Ump makes the call and of course U do not show up the Ump so it is called a strike. So Brett Lawrie gets another chance to get on base as the tying run in a 4-3 Rays lead but he did not learn his lesson as Fernando Rodney throw a pitch maybe a little high but Lawrie took a step towards first and the ump with a lot of emotion in his strike three call and Lawrie when he heard he was called out he turned around and got into the ump's face and was thrown out of the game and then throw his helmet into the ground and it came up and hit the ump's butt and it will cost him some money and maybe a game. I hope this will be a learning moment for him and hopefully next time he will be a little bit more patience and wait for the ump to make the call before leaving the batter's box.
The Jays had a great third inning started by Rajai Davis who started the inning with a single and on an error by Elliot Johnson who throw the ball away moved into second and this was after he gunned down Ben Zobrist to end the top of the inning. Then the Jays got two great two out hits starting with a RBI single by Jose Bautista and that was followed by Edwin Encarnacion 11th homer of the season which was a two-run shot and it gave the Jays a 3-0 lead but the Jays only had two hits in the last 6 innings of the game.
David Price Shut down the Jays over the next four innings on two hits while the bullpen of Joel Peralta and Fernando Rodney who pitched perfect eighth and ninth inning respectfully while the Rays chipped away at the the lead. As after Henderson Alvarez faced only 15 batters to get through the first four innings and then gave up a RBI double to Ben Zobrist to get them on the board and then retired the next four batters to get into the seventh inning. In the seventh inning Sean Rodriguez lead off with a solo homer and then the wheels came off the D as the Jays booted the ball around starting with runner on first Yunel Escobar was not able to handle a Jose Molina ground ball that could of been two and could of had two outs and no less than out one of the inning but instead all hands are safe. This was followed by Elliot Johnson single scoring a run to tie the game as Rajai was not able to pick up the ball cleanly and it was the second error of the inning because if he did the tying run would of still been on third and then B. J. Upton hit into a double play while Molina scored the winning run.
The Jays that had the second best D in baseball in the first few weeks of the season now are leading the league in fielding errors with 37 along with 15 in the last 10 games and tonight was the first four error game the Jays have had this season after having 3 three error games and the tying and winning run were both unearned and the Jays had 7 unearned in the two-game series against the Rays. The pitchers have 7 of the thrown errors and the Jays need to make sure to take a second and plant their feet before throwing the ball as most errors have been rushed plays on routine plays and if they cut down on the careless errors they will keep the opponents off the board and win games.
The Jays have not played well to start the home stand and it could be a disaster if they do not play better against the Yankees

Adam Lind error was extremely costly in a game they should of had
So the Jays even with all their errors is season 31 coming into tonight's game the Jays had only 8 unearned runs off those errors and tonight Adam Lind added two more to the account and his fifth inning error where he missed played the ball and Matt Joyce slide into first base with one outs and it gave the Rays a 2-1 lead as Ben Zobrist scored from second. The next batter Carlos Pena struck out and Zobrist should off been left at third but the the Rays got back-to-back two-run hits from Luke Scott who had a single and Sean Rodriguez who had a double so the end result was Jays came into the fifth with a 1-0 lead and went to the bottom of the inning down 6-1 behind five unearned runs off Adam Lind's second error of the game.
It was not the only part of the game that Lind had serious affect to the game as in his first at bat of the game in the first inning he hit a ball off the leg of Rays starter Jeff Niemann's leg and was able to finish the inning with two runners in scoring position when Edwin Encarnacion ground out to Will Rhymes at second. The effect of the ball off his leg did not allow him to warm-up to start the second inning and it was the best chance the Jays would have until the ninth inning except for two walks that lead to a Kelly Johnson RBI single off Cesar Ramos who was the winning pitcher in the second inning for their only run in a 7-1 loss. The Rays bullpen pitched 8 innings and between the third and the ninth they gave up only a single and two walk with Wade Davis pitching two innings and only gave up a walk who was followed by J.P. Howell and Burke Badenhop pitched perfect innings and Jake McGee finished off the ninth inning and gave up a single and a walk and the Jays ended up with no extra base hits off the six Rays pitchers.
Brandon Morrow went into the fifth inning given up 4 walks and 6 Ks and in the fifth inning he gave up four hit and another walk so he was unhittable going into the fifth and except for Kelly Johnson who had two of the Jays four hits the Jays could not take advantage of the 6 walks the Rays gave up either.
Now David Price vs Henderson Alvarez in the finale of the series tomorrow

Jays have a luke warm road trip as they struggle against the Twins Dimond in the rough
Jays come home with a 5-5 record against a struggling Angels team, an A's team with a lot of fight, and the worst team in the American league the Twins as they are on the losing side of two of the Twins 10 wins this season. They now will come home to meet New York as they meet the home team of the Yankees spring training facilities in the Tampa Bay Rays, followed by the Yankees themselves both for two games each and finish it off with the Mets which will be the first time a New York team follows a New York team and it will be a battle to get a winning series out of Tampa/Yankees and then 2 of 3 from the Mets.
So the road trip ends with the Jays Ace Ricky Romero not knowing where the strike zone was as throw 51 strikes compared to 48 balls and is not his self as he has been struggling for weeks and the walks have jumped huge as another 5 walks and no strike outs and really got through the first four innings by the skin of his teeth as he got a huge catch by Jose Bautista at the wall to end the first leaving a double on. In the second he got help from a double play to erase a single before walking his first of the game and in the third he got a ground ball double play to erase a lead off single which came right before Brian Dozier hit his first major league homer a second level bomb which was only a solo shot. In the fourth he got a magic play from the knees of Brett Lawrie who with runners on the corners a nubber and from his knees was able to get the runner at home on a squeeze attempt to keep the only down 1-0. In the fifth the magic was finished as Ricky gave up two singles followed by two straight walks the second of course walking in a run for the second game in a row and then the big hit happened with no out and bases juiced and Ryan Doumit singled in two to make it 4-0 Twins and with another double play Ricky was able to get out of the inning with no more damage.
The Jays were struggling over the first 7 innings against Guelph Ontario Native Scott Diamond who shutout the Jays on 5 hits and he k'd four Jays that he watch grown up and he maybe a dimond in the rough for the Twin as he has allowed 10 base runners as a Twins starter in 14 innings and is 2-0 without given up a run.
The Jays were able to get to Jared Burton who came into the game retiring the last 34 batters he faced and had only gave up 3 hits in the season and today the Jays got three straight singles including a RBI single from Yunel Escobar and after popped up Edwin Encarnacion singled which was one of his three hits on the day and a run scored on a ground out by Eric Thames and a third run came in on a wild pitch by pitcher Glen Perkins.
The Twins closer: Matt Capps came in and with one out gave up a single to J.P. Arencibia and then Adam Lind came off the bench and a ball hard but it was too fly and Josh Willingham got it in foul ground for the second out and pinch runner Jeff Mathis moved up to second on the catch but Kelly Johnson struck out swinging to end the game.
It will be a tough road @ home

Drew Hutchison got the job done while Bautista went yard
Jose Bautista hit his 10th homer at target field and it was a game winning shot in the sixth inning as the Jays won 2-1 against the Twins in a much better pitching duel than the night before. Bautista had two more hits in the game as he is still hitting under .200 (.197) but he still got 8 homers and 18 RBIs in the Jays 34 games. Colby Rasmus had two hits in the game while Lind, Johnson, and Escobar.
Drew Hutchison pitched 6 innings and only gave one run on 3 hits but he lost his strike zone in the fourth inning where he gave up two walks including walking home a run and he also gave up two singles as well and he pitched well the other five innings as he gave up a double to Brian Dozier along with two more walks. The Bullpen pitched well as they pitched three innings of two hit ball along with two more walks including Francisco Cordero who pitched an inning and did not give up a run but still did give up a single and a walk while Casey Janssen pitched another 1-2-3 ninth inning and it is nice that Janssen is able to close the game so well and is now 2 of 3 closing this season after coming into the season with 9 of 16.
P.J. Walters pitched 6 inning and gave up two runs on 6 hits and 5 Ks while the Bullpen pitched three innings and gave up only a single and it was a great pitching match-up.

Jose Bautista loved the rain delay but the pitchers did not
After two hour rain delay Jose Bautista's bat came alive not once but twice as hit a solo shot in the first inning and again in the sixth inning as now has 9 homers @ target field in Minnesota in 9 games. Eric Thames also went yard for the Jays in the sixth inning as he hit a two-run homer and Edwin Encarnacion hit his 11th homer of the season in the eighth as the Jays hit 4 long balls in the game but the Jays still lost 7-6.
If it was a good hitting night after the rain delay then it diffidently was not for the pitchers as moths were buzzing everywhere during the game and it affected the pitchers especially Kyle Drabek who loaded the bases on walks in the first and then Ryan Doumit got the first Twins which was a two run RBI single and was able to get out of the inning with no more damage. He settled down as he gave up a walk in the second and then Denard Span barely missed a home run before getting a single and then in the fifth inning it came undone as the Drabek allowed a double to Denard Span and then Carlos Villenuva came in and walked three including walking in a run in a four run inning that at the time gave the twins a 6-2 lead. After the Jays had their 3 run sixth it was a RBI single by Darin Mastroianni in the seventh that made the difference in the game as Eric Thames had a rough fielding inning which started with a fly ball out in left field and the lead-off walk (as the Jays walked 9 batters) moved up to second as Thames was paying attention which set up Darin Mastroianni single to Thames who throw the ball wide of the plate to make it impossible for J.P. to get the runner.
It was a tough game for Drabek as he is the first Jays pitcher this season to not at least finish the fifth inning and he battled throwing 109 pitches and 61 for strikes over 4.1 and gave up 3 runs on four hits and had 5 Ks to go with 4 walks in the game but if the Twins got more hits in the first or second it could of been a very short outing. So Drabek next start will be very important against the Yankees as he lost his last four starts.
Brett Lawrie had a moth jump down his jersey while he was batting and still got a hit as he had 3 in the game

Jays ran cycles around the Twins while taken a flyer on a firmer Expos
So Edwin Encarnacion had two RBIs in the Jays 6-2 victory and the ball did not leave the infield as he had an ground ball for a double in the third with Yunel on second and Bastista on first, after being hit or nearly hit in back-to-back pitches and the second was a no doubter getting him flush in the rib cage, and Bastista slide into second base and by the time the Twins infield got up Yunel was running across home plate. Then also in the third the Jays put up a 3 spot as Brett Lawrie got a RBI single and on a pass ball by catcher Ryan Doumit he went first to third and then scored on a RBI ground-rule double by Kelly Johnson. Edwin popped sky high in front of the plate and Ryan Doumit lost it in the sky and the pitcher Jason Marquis dropped it and Yunel Escobar ran home on contact and scored. The Jays also scored two runs in the first inning that was setup by a Jason Marquis wild pitch with runners on first and second and both runners moved up on the pitch so that Eric Thames had a sac fly and Brett Lawrie had another RBI single. Yunel Escobar had a four hit night and scored 3 of the Jays 6 runs and his batting average is all the way up to .265 thanks to being moved down to second in the order while Colby Rasmus also had two hits in the game.
The Jays had two more errors in the game but it was the two double plays in the game that they turned as Brian Dozier hit into a double play in the first with a lead off single and it was a good way to set the mound for the Jays and Henderson Alvarez. Then the sixth inning the double play was huge because right after that Josh Willingham step up and went deep and if it was not a double play it would of been 6-4 and instead it was 6-2 and Henderson pitched 7 innings and gave up 2 runs on 7 hits and walked 3 and k'd 2 and only one was earned because a double play attempt Kelly Johnson got the force at second and then throw away the ball as he throw the ball to first as Alexi Casilla scored.
Luis Perez and Jason Frasor pitched a clean inning each and both k'd two batters and now Vladimir Guerrero is heading to Dunedin to start an extended spring training as he was signed to a minor league so it does not effect anything except if he gets power and joins the Blue Jays and tries to help the Jays off the bench or something.

Jays shake up works in game one
The Jays shaken up things before today and it worked marvelous for them as struggling Adam Lind moved down all the way down to the 8 spot and he had a two-run homer to get things started as it gave the Jays a 2-0 lead and he had two hits in the game. So four guys moved up a spot in the lineup with Edwin Encarnacion now the clean up hitter and going into eighth inning with a 0 for 21 and then he was able to unload on a ball for his tenth homer of the season and it gave the Jays a 5-2 lead and Casey Janssen is the now closer as Francisco Cordero was ask to take a seat for a bit and Janssen came in and was able to get ahead of batters and went 1, 2, 3 through the A's in the ninth and was able to get a strike out and it was the 14th A to be k'd which was the most A's k'd in a game this season. The other three batters to move up a spot had a hit each as Eric Thames got a hit and scored, Brett Lawrie getting a double and scoring on a Colby Rasmus RBI single.
Brandon Morrow kept the stretch of three straight victories and he had his most k's in a game (10) this season but his shutout streak ended @ 24 innings in the fifth inning as Jonny Gomes had a RBI single and his streak of not walking a batter in a game @ 2 ended in a big way as he walked four and one of them came in to score the A's run off of Morrow and he only gave up four hits. Morrow battled the A's through 6 innings and through 114 pitches as he had a lot of long at bats and also the four walks he gave up inflated his pitch count but he continues to be a much mentally stronger pitcher than in the past as he has an incredible era of 2.27.

Francisco Cordero is unlikely to make it to the twin cities with the Jays
In the first save opportunity in a week Francisco Cordero came in and just could not throw strikes as he throw eight straight balls to load the bases in the ninth inning and then with one and tied ball game @ 3 and then Brandon Inge a lofty .146 this season (as his second team of the season as he was waived by the Tigers already) took him deep for a grand slam to give the A's a 7-3 victory. Cordero came into the bottom of the ninth with a 3-2 lead after Eric Thames hustled around the bases hitting a ball of the wall and ending up with a triple and Kelly Johnson had two out single to drive him in in the top of the inning and Cordero gives up a lead off double and with one and the run at third is very lucky that the runner did not come home on a wild pitch but Cliff Pennington got the job done for the A's with a RBI single. Francisco Cordero has now blown 3 of his 5 save opportunities and has not looked pretty at all doing it either as he has given up 20 hits in only 11.3 inning pitched and seriously not be surprised at all to hear by game time tomorrow afternoon that he has been sent for an assignment meaning anywhere but here.
Ricky Romero was playing with fire all evening as he walked five batters in his six innings and really struggled to find the strike zone as he throw only 61 of his 110 pitches for strikes which is 55% and to think that Romero throw 110 pitches over 6 inning in quite amazing and not in a good way as that is 18.3 pitches an inning and that's not Romero. The only good things were that he only gave up four hits and only one walk really was damaging as he walked Jemile Weeks in the fifth inning as he stole second base and got into Ricky's head and Ricky throw a pitch did not want too to Josh Reddick who sent it to the second deck in the outfield seats a two-run homer to match Kelly Johnson's two-run homer in the third inning. Ricky had lots of problems with Weeks as he lead off the game with a double and Ricky tried to pick him off of second and throw the ball into the outfield and it was one the three errors on the blue jays as they really have not been the same in the last 14 games after sweeping the Royals and heading to Baltimore to meet the O's.

Luck was not on the Jays side as Angels even the series
Jays were very unlucky in a 4-2 Angels victory in which Albert Pujols got his first homer as an Angel and it only took him 111 at bats to get it in the fifth inning a two-run job and was the different in their win.
The luck left them in the fourth Maicer Izturis singled and Pujols up he steals second on what looked like a foul off by Pujols and then he scores when Mark Trumbo hit a ball back at Drew Hutchison and kicks off his leg for a RBI single. Then with two outs Alberto Callaspo hits a dying quail to Eric Thames and Thames dove for it and barely missed it and the Angels take a 2-1 lead on that play. The Umps were nice to the Jays in the fifth when Colby Rasmus was clearing out on a pick off move by Angels starterJerome Williams and then the Jays were unable to put it up on the scoreboard as Kelly Johnson and Thames struck out to end the inning. Their luck was really not with them in the eighth as Adam Lind lead off with a walk and Rajai Davis was brought in to pinch run and on the pitch that Edwin Encarnacion sees is up and in and he turns right shoulder to see the ball it hits his bat with the bat still on his shoulder for a foul tip as Rajai was running and had stolen second base and had to back to first and then Edwin pops the ball up in front of the plate as Rajai is running and he slides into second base and has no close where the ball is and Erick Aybar comes over and stands on the first base side of second and pounds his glove like he has the ball and Rajai is out and Rajai is of course at first base. This was really cheap on Erick Aybar part as Rajai would who had to have gone through him to get back to first as he was standing in the base pass and I guess if he know where the ball was he probably be back at first on interference but it still was a classless move. The bad luck continued in the ninth inning when with one out J.P. Arenciba gets his third hit of the game a single and is on first but Angels closer Scott Downs on the play catches something on the mound and has to leave the game and LaTroy Hawkins comes in and after a long warm up throws one pitch to Omar Vizquel who lines it back to Hawkins who catches it and the pinch runner Jeff Mathis is doubled up a first.
The Jays split the series in Anaheim and that is pretty good now they have a day off before facing the A's for 2 Tuesday and Wednesday

Jays pitchers forgot how to field their position as Angel bats wake up
Kyle Drabek with the Angels lead 2-1 got into major trouble in the sixth inning as he gave up four straight hits yo open the inning before Jason Frasor replaced him and Drabek gave up a lead-off homer to Mark Trumbo who replaced the struggling Albert Pujols @ first base and he had two hits and a walk in the game. Drabek loaded the bases before leaving on a walk and two infield hits and then Jason Frasor gave up a sac fly RBI to Mike Trout who also had a fifth inning solo homer to make it 2-1 and then Jason Frasor had a ball off the bat of Alberto Callaspo and tried to start a double play but bounced it and everyone was safe and a 5 run scored as the Angels batted around. The Angels picked up another insurance run in the eighth when Mike Trout doubled and moved to third on a bunt single and came in on a RBI single by Kendrys Morales and Luis Perez throw a ball into the outfield for second throwing error on Jays pitching. The Angels used a lot of small ball as they bunted 4 times and got a hit two times ans two balls were hit back to the mound and both runners reached base and Jays pitchers walked 5 and gave up another infield hit and pop up single behind second base that Kelly Johnson was unable to get to and the Jays had three errors in the game as Adam Lind had missed a ball in the fifth that allowed the hitter to reach base. It was the three-run bat around sixth inning costed the Jays as the Jays would of tied it at 2 with an Adam Lind hit a solo homer to open the seventh inning and in the eighth inning Edwin Encarnacion was robbed by Vernon wells as he snagged a ball just before it hit the top of the fence for a RBI double at least it turned out to be the third out of the inning.
Kyle Drabek had trouble in the game given up 8 hits and 5 walks along with 5 earned runs while C.J. Wilson proved that he was worth his contract tonight as he pitched 8 innings and gave up 2 runs on 6 hits and walked 3 and k'd 9 in an Angels 6-2 victory and the Angels fans will not be warming up to Pujols especially as Trumbo had two hits at first and Kendrys Morales had 3 of the Angels 13 hits and they only had 9 through the first two games of the series.
Jose Bautista had a RBI single and went 1 for 4 and is hitting only .180 while Brett Lawrie had two of the Jays 6 hits and is hitting .284 which is second on the team behind Edwin's .287 average.

Jays get back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 1988
Henderson Alvarez pitched a complete game 6 hitter against the Angels as the Jays picked up a 4-0 shutout victory which is the first time since 1988 to collect two straight shutouts and the Jays have won four in a row and thankfully they have not needed a closer in three games which is a good thing and the starters have pitched 26 of the last 27 innings.Alvarez throw first pitch strikes 75% of time to Angels hitters (24 of 32) and had 13 grounds balls to fly ball outs and added 3 Ks as well and he has picked up back-to-back wins for the first in his MLB career and it was great pitching and he has gotten the run support in his last two starts as he has 12 runs in support of those two games.
Ervin Santana was a sore luck loser in this pitchers duel as he gave up only 3 hits and 2 walks and k'd 10 Jays in his 8 inning performance and he got into trouble only in the third inning where he walked former Angel catcher Jeff Mathis and then gave up a two out RBI single to Yunel Escobar and Jose Bautista hit a first pitch fastball to deep center field where Mike Trout lost the ball in the sky and jumped to try to catch the ball and landed to his right and over the fence for his fifth homer of the season. Santana who truly not been pitching well this season still has zero run support over five of his six starts and the Angels are now 10 and 17 on the season.
The Jays got an insurance run in the top of the ninth as both Edwin Encarnacion and Brett Lawrie ran all our and was able to beat an infield ground ball and Lawrie got a RBI single for his effort.
The starters are better than advertised in the first 27 games (16-11)

Brandon Morrow had a complete game three hit shutout
The Blue Jays got a gem from Brandon Morrow who only gave up two hits going into the ninth inning both by Mike Trout and both times he was erased by a ground ball double play and Morrow had only one ground ball double play last season in his last start of the season. So he went into the ninth inning facing the minimum of 24 batters and had not even 100 pitches and in the ninth inning he gave up a double to Mark Trumbo who was the only batter he faced above the minimum of 27 batters as he got the nest three in a row and had a complete game shutout three hitter and for the second straight game he has not walked a batter and not given up a run either and has not allowed a run in over 20 innings. One of the most impressive thing about the game was that he throw only 102 pitches and 75 for strikes and had 8 Ks and when U think that his other complete game shutout two years ago he throw 35 pitches and that is almost 4 pitches an inning and also that he got 9 ground balls out to fly ball outs.
Going into the third inning the Angels pitchers had not given up a single hit in 17 innings and then in the third the Jays got one hit (Brett Lawrie single), then two straight hits (Colby Rasmus single), and that brought J.P. Arencibia to the plate who hit a ball to left field and Vernon Wells went back to the fence and could only turn and look as the ball landed in the Jays bullpen for a three-run shot and then Kelly Johnson got a single for the fourth straight hit. The Angels starter pitched well with only the homer being the sore point in his 7 inning performance where he gave up 3 earned runs on 5 hits and two walks along with 5 Ks but he fell victim in sixth of a fielding error by Mark Trumbo which allowed 2 unearned runs after Harden after given up a walk and an infield hit got Bautista and Lind but Edwin Encarnacion reached on the error and it made the final 5-0.
It was a great performance by Brandon Morrow and hopefully it is the start of something good

The Jays went to town on the Rangers pitching
Jays bats beat up on Rangers pitchers starting in the third inning when Kelly Johnson unloaded on Matt Harrison for a two-run homer to give the Jays a 2-1 lead after Ricky Romero gave up a solo homer to Brandon Snyder in the top of the second. Then in the fourth inning the bats went bananas as 6 of the first 7 batters reached base including a two-run double by J. P. Arencibia and then with the bases loaded hit the ball to center field and triple all the base runners home for 3 RBIs and then he was driven home by Jose Bautista on a sac fly as the Jays put up a 6 spot in the inning to give the Jays a 8-1 lead.
Ricky Romero was on for most of his eight innings especially after Snyder's homer when allowed the next batter Craig Gentry singled and then he retired the next 7 batters until the fifth inning and then he walked the bases loaded and then Elvis Andrus doubled and two-run scored and Micheal Young singled in a run and then retired the last 12 of 13 batters as only Elvis Andrus reached on an error by Kelly Johnson but still allowed 4 runs in the fifth inning. Ricky Romero throw 8 innings and gave up 5 runs on 6 hits along with 6 Ks and 3 walks and he really struggled through the first two innings where he gave up 4 hits.

Lawrie ends it in the ninth after Cordero blow it
So the Jays headed into the ninth inning after rallying back from 5-0 after an inning and a half and was looking good as Francisco Cordero got two quick outs but then gave up three straight singles and it ended with former Blue Jay Micheal Young had a RBI single to tie up the game at 7. Then in the bottom of the ninth Brett Lawrie lead it off and was ahead 2-0 and Mike Adams battled back to a 2-2 count and then on a 3-2 count he got a hold of a ball and sent it to deep center field and it bounced off the top of the wall and bounced out for a homer and as he turned third base and throw away his helmet and started to point at the Jays at home plate and he jumped on home plate and the team attacked him and he had his jersey taken off and ran around home plate and waited for the on field announcer for sportsnet came over to interview him.
The Rangers took a 5-0 lead in the top of the second inning as Drew Hutchison k'd the first four batters he faced and then the Rangers decided to attack first pitches as Hutchison was first pitch strikes and the Rangers got five of the next six batters which included Alberto Gonzalez's RBI single, Craig Gentry reached on a force out at second of Gonzalez as a run scored, Ian Kinsler had a two run RBI double, and Elvis Andrus had a RBI single. Hutchison gave up two hits and a walk in the next 4 innings and he gave up a run in the fourth inning after
Alberto Gonzalez singled and scored on back-to-back fielding errors by Yunel Escobar and Kelly Johnson and that was all as he gave up 6 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks and he pitched well against the best hitting team in the american league.
The Rangers starting pitcher Neftali Feliz got a double plays in the first and second inning and only gave up a single in each but in the third with one out both Colby Rasmus and Jeff Mathis and with two outs Kelly Johnson hit a three-homer and that was followed by a booming shot from Jose Bautista. Neftali Feliz gave up 4 hits and 6 walks and gave up 4 runs but he survived the night and left the game with a 6-3 lead is because the Rangers defense turned 4 double plays after they had come into the game with 17 of them.
The Jays put up a three spot in the seventh inning as they loaded the bases and Mathis hit a double play ball to give himself a RBI and ran it out to make it possible for a RBI ground out by Yunel Escobar and Kelly Johnson had a RBI single to give the Jays a 7-6 lead and helped the Jays be able to take the series.
Also Jose Bautista had a ball thrown over his head in the seventh inning and then really wanted to crush a second ball out of the stadium and hopefully it will help him snap out of this daze that he has been in since last season's all-star break.
Ricky Romero has a chance to win the series against the Rangers tomorrow afternoon
