Morrow pitches 8 amazing innings and it almost fell apart in the ninth
Brandon Morrow pitched a complete game three hitter and sadly that will most likely not be the story of the game as the Second Base Ump Brian Knight clearing did not see Yunel Escobar glove as he whiffed at tagging Mike Baxter who hit a ball into the right field corner and Jose Bautista got the ball back into the infield and Escobar missed completely as U probably a paper or two into the space between the glove and the runner. So give Yunel Escobar credit he sold it perfectly and it was two man on third in a 2-0 game instead of second and third one out and then it would of been very interesting what Farrell would of done because Casey Janssen was in the bullpen waiting to see if he was needed and I would of hoped in that situation that he went to the bullpen as Morrow was at 102 pitches and was looking like he was fighting himself to complete maybe it was the lead off four pitch walk and a double along with Janssen being so good at closing recently talking to me even though it would of been the toughest situation he would of been in since being named the closer. Morrow did get Daniel Murphy line out hard but right to Yunel Escobar to end the game and 8 strike outs and only one walk in the game and is now 5-2 on the season and right now the best Jays pitcher as in 5 of 9 starts he has given 1 or less walks in the game abd pitched at least 6.2 in all those games.
The question will be why did the Umps get together like in Anaheim when Bautista was clearly hit by a pitch and the home plate ump missed it completely and the third base ump told him it hit him and he got the base so could the umps today not put their heads together and have the first base ump Wally Bell say I saw it he missed it was not even close to Brian Knight and if at that point Knight stick to his guns and still call him out then that is his choice not a good choice but his choice none the less except that the meeting did not happen. Also Baxter handled himself very well basically pointed and said he did not tag me and got heated with his manger that he did not tag as the manager picked up his cause.
Now if anyone wondering if the Jays would get a call in their favor after the Brett Lawrie incident there it was
