The Jays went to town on the Rangers pitching
Jays bats beat up on Rangers pitchers starting in the third inning when Kelly Johnson unloaded on Matt Harrison for a two-run homer to give the Jays a 2-1 lead after Ricky Romero gave up a solo homer to Brandon Snyder in the top of the second. Then in the fourth inning the bats went bananas as 6 of the first 7 batters reached base including a two-run double by J. P. Arencibia and then with the bases loaded hit the ball to center field and triple all the base runners home for 3 RBIs and then he was driven home by Jose Bautista on a sac fly as the Jays put up a 6 spot in the inning to give the Jays a 8-1 lead.
Ricky Romero was on for most of his eight innings especially after Snyder's homer when allowed the next batter Craig Gentry singled and then he retired the next 7 batters until the fifth inning and then he walked the bases loaded and then Elvis Andrus doubled and two-run scored and Micheal Young singled in a run and then retired the last 12 of 13 batters as only Elvis Andrus reached on an error by Kelly Johnson but still allowed 4 runs in the fifth inning. Ricky Romero throw 8 innings and gave up 5 runs on 6 hits along with 6 Ks and 3 walks and he really struggled through the first two innings where he gave up 4 hits.
Jays win 2 of 3 from the most talented team in the american league
