So it looks like a lot of Jays will be making returns on this first road trip
To start the game the Blue Jays started like they ended last night as will hot bats as Yanul Escobar got drove in by an Adam Lind double and then in the top of the fourth Hideki Matsui (yes he goes from the Yankees to the Angels to the A's in a year basically) doubles in both Barton and DeJesus to make it 2-1. Then the game turns on its ear when Edwin Encarnacion hits a ball hard on the ground shortstop Cliff Pennington dives for the ball and squeaks through the infield and with two on as Juan Rivera had walked Travis Snider walked to the plate and on a 2-1 count crushes a ball for his first homer of the season and a 3-run shot at that to make it 4-2 for the Jays after 4. In the fifth the A's cut the lead in half when Coco Crisp triples and the next batter Barton singles him in to make it 4-3 Jays but in the bottom of the 8th Johnny Mac got a hit and then Adam Lind gets a ground rule double with fan interference where Arron Hill picked up a RBI single to make it 5-3.
Jessie Litsch throw a lot of pitches in 6.1 innings pitched with 100 but 61 were strikes and he did strike out 7 and walked 2 and gave up 3 earn runs on 6 hits. Then Mark Rzepczynski came in and in 2 innings of no-hit ball struck out 3 of the 6 batters he faced to make a statement that he would like to take Jo Jo Reyes spot in the rotation and then Jon Rauch came in and said I want to be the closer some more as he throw 7 pitches and 6 for strikes to get the final two batters in order.
Right now the Jays are 4-1 and seem to be able to do nothing wrong as when they need the key hit they get it and when they need a reliever to come in and bridge the gap between the starter and closer it is done with so little effort needed to get the job done as the just over 11,000 went home happy again and tomorrow the kids are in the stands for a afternoon getaway day special and the 500 level will be noisy at least.
Red Soxs are still in the spring train mode are looking like they are going 0-5 to start
