Blue Jays - 8 - 10 - The Jays hitters make Bartolo Colon look like an all-star tonight

The Jays had their chances to get to Bartolo Colon in the first inning Yunel Escobar singled open the game and with two outs Adam Lind gets a walk but Edwin Encarnacion flied out to Andrew Jones and then to open the second inning J.P. went deep to give the Jays their first run. Then the Jays made Colon look like an all-star as he pitched 6.2 innings and gave up 2 runs on 5 hits with 7 K's along with 2 walks and 2 on the hits came in the 7 inning where J.P. who was on first and made a huge rookie mistake on a Travis Snider single with Edwin on on second and one out. J.P. tried to go first to third on the hit but Edwin had stopped at third and J.P. did not realize this because he had his head down and was tagged out at third because he the second runner on the bag to make it first and third with 2 out and then Jayson Nix lined a base hit to center field and J.P. would of scored the Jays 3 run of the game so a rookie mistake cost them at least a run.

If Colon looked like an all-star in his first start of the season then Brett Cecil looked like a pitcher that did not look like a Major League pitcher as he struggled throughout his 5 innings as he behind the eight ball all night long and gave up 5 runs on 6 hits and just like Drabek last night 4 walks really did him in. Starting in the first inning where he loaded the bases with 2 walks and a hit while the Yankees scored their first run on a Robertson Cano ground out to make it 1-0 and then in the second Curtis Granderson triple as Jose Bautista had a hard time getting the ball and Toronto native Russell Martin scored their second run followed by a Derek Jeter ground out to make it 3-0 Yankees. In the third inning the funniest moment in the game happened when A-Rod was caught stealing when he was safe and he could not believe it but he deserve it while the Yankees got to Cecil again in the 5 inning when Nick Swisher singled and Mark Teixeira doubled followed by back to back sac fly by A-Rod and Cano to make it 5-1.

Then in the Top of the 9 inning Jays fans were introduced to Frank Fransicso whose first pitch was air mailed by Curtis Granderson to make it 6-2 but the Jays ended up with two chances with the tying run at the plate but Johnny Mac popped the ball up in front of the plate followed by Yunel Escobar who flied out to Granderson to end the game and leave the bases loaded.

The Jays did not get the timely hits but did split the series with the Yankees which hopefully they will be able to win later in the season
