Edwin Encarnacion sours Tim Wakefield as 7 is not lucky for Wakefield

Brandon Morrow looked like he would of reversed his home numbers but instead he just could not do it as he gave up 8 runs on 8 hits with a walk and two hit batters in 4.1` innings pitch and hit Adrian Gonzalez to load the bases with no outs and it looked like he was going to turn it around after he K'd David Ortiz but on the next pitch he hit Kevin Yurkillis to score a run and it was 1-0 with two outs and then Marco Scutaro hit a two run single to make it 3-0. In the fourth inning after retiring 7 in a row before he fell apart again with the Jays up 5-3 and he gave up two doubles around a Scutario walk including a Josh Reddick RBI double and with two outs it looked like he was going to get out of it but instead Jacoby Ellsbury hit a three run homer to give the Sox a 7-5 lead and with one out in the fifth David Ortiz went second deck on Morrow's last pitch. So it was 8-5 going into the bottom of the eighth Daniel Bard the Sox setup guy was in and he could not find the plate as he throw 19 balls compared to 17 strikes as the inning started with BC boys being the first two batters with Brett Lawrie got hit and Adam Lowewen picked up his first major league hit a single which was followed by a J.P. walk to load the bases and then he K'd Dwayne Wise (swinging) and Yunel Escobar (looking). Then walked in two runs to tie the game and soured Tim Wakefield (as he would not get his 200th win his seventh attempt) as Eric Thames and Jose Bautista both walked which brought Edwin Encarnacion to plate and he finished off a 5 RBI game by hitting a bases clearing double to give the Jays a 11-8. Frank Francisco came in to close the game down but did not start well as Adrian Gonzalez hit a solo homer to start the inning and it was followed by David Ortiz who singled and then Francisco got two quick outs before Marco Scutario had a RBI single but his pinch runner Mike Aviles was caught stealing by back-up catcher Jose Molina to end the game.

Tim Wakefield just did not have his knuckle ball working early so he was in trouble as he walked Yunel Escobar and Jose Bautista around a Eric Thames ground out and two wild pitches put runners on the corners for Edwin Encarnacion who picked up his first sac fly since opening day. In the second J.P. muscled a knuckler into the stands for a catcher team record for homers a two run shot to tie the game at 3 and in the bottom of the third Jose Bautista had a RBI ground rule double and then later stole home as Wakefield gave up 5 runs (4 earned) on 3 hits and more importantly 3 walks and two hit batters in 5 innings.

The Bullpen of Carlos Villanueva, Jessie Litsch, and Shawn Camp pitched 3.2 inning of three hit shutout to put the Jays into the position to try and win the game.
