Dustin McGowan came in to start the 5 inning and the Jays were already down 11-0 and in his first major league appearance in over 3 years and Tommy John surgery and then over the next few years he had a couple more different surgeries and he pitched 4 plus inning ball given up 3 runs on 5 hits with 3 walks and 5Ks. His first inning was a struggle for him as he was a little nervous as gave up three hits to the first four batters including a two run double for Marco Scutaro and then until the ninth inning was a solo homer by Josh Reddick and then in the ninth he walked for first two batters before leaving the game to cheers after entering the game with cheers and through 74 pitches and 44 for strikes. The question to be asked tomorrow and the next couple of days is how will his arm bounce back and recover and will he be able to pitch on Sunday and will he be a starter or coming out of the bullpen.
Except for that it was all the Red Sox as Luis Perez got smoked as he gave up 8 runs on 10 hits with 2 walks over 2.2 innings pitched and Rommie Lewis did not do a lot better as he gave up 3 rens on 5 hits and struck out 3 as the Red Sox ended up with 14 runs on 20 hits and it was lead by Marco Scutario and David Oritz bot had 4 hits in the game and Scutario had four RBIs and Oritz had two RBIs while Adrian Gonzalez had 3 hits and 2 RBIs.
Jon Lester shut down the Blue Jays as he pitched 7 inning of 3 hit shutout and he had 11Ks and a walk and just did not allow the Jays to get any offensive going as Yunel Escobar had two of the hits for the Jays.
Tomorrow Tim Walefield goes for his seventh attempt at 22th win while Morrow will try to reverse his home numbers.
