Jose Molina finally gets awake up call as Jays call up a defensive catcher

So yes Jose Molina has been swing a very good bat this season hitting .302 with 2 homers and 11 RBIs to go with 10 doubles and a triple while having 13 walks along with 21Ks in 39 games but it is the lack of desire of playing defense as he has let a lot of balls get behind him and time after time he does not go hard after them. He has caught 9 of 32 of runners (28%) and allowed 8 passed balls in 37 games by the game which in comparison with the Yankees in 2009 in 49 games caught 9 of 32 runners but only had 3 passed balls for the World champs and in 2008 he caught 97 games he caught 33 runners in 75 attempts (44%) which means he can be a much better defensive catcher but instead he is just collecting his 1.2 million dollar contract.

J.P. Arencibia has also struggled with a batting average of .213 in 97 games with 19 homers, 14 doubles, and 3 triples with 28 walks compared to 107 Ks which can be better especially getting on base .277 and getting hits only 74 hits so far this season but it is his first full season with the Blue Jays. Defensively he tries to throw out runners from his knees instead of jumping up and throwing and it has cost him as he only thrown out 19 of 80 runners (24%) with 11 passed balls but does go after them harder than Molina.

So the Jays have called up Brian Jeroloman who is batting .240 (65 for 271) with 2 homers and 26 RBIs with 9 doubles to go with 38 walks and 72 Ks but more importantly 9 errors in 79 games behind the plate so lets hope he given more of Molina defensive duties and hope that he can do much better because U can not get any worst.

Molina does want to be here
