Brett Lawrie is finally joining the Blue Jays in the majors as he heads for Baltimore

So finally Brett Lawrie will make his MLB debut and the Jays organization has to start him on the road and with the zoo environment that will be waiting for him on Tuesday just having a weekend with the team and the beat writers will ease him into the majors that's a good thing. So Lawrie has been tearing up triple A over the last three month with a little bit of a brake when he fractured his left-hand at the end of May that sidelined him for a month but he is still hitting well (.353) while gaining power in his bat (18 homers) and was able to drive in runners on base ( 61 RBIs). While becoming more patient at the plate as he had 53Ks in Las Vegas during his 69 games and walked 28 times and during his first 20 to 30 games his Ks where over a K a game and there were no suck things as walks while he had like 3 or 4 errors over his last 40 games played which is positive.

So now lets take a serious look at the situation because the chance of Lawrie starting tomorrow and then staying up in the majors is little to none as he will have his ups and downs and may not stick immediately with the Jays as the pitchers are going to pitch his differently than in Las Vegas and the 21 year old from Langley, BC may have a learning curve or two before he becomes a full-time major leaguer and the balls will be flying at him at third a little faster. So everybody after the initial excitement dies down we will all need to be very patient with Lawrie and best example of this is the player he is replacing on the roster Travis Snider who is being sent down again to work on stuff and right now for Snider the bigger concern is going to be what goes on in-between his ears as it is as much mental as physical right now so that will be interesting to monitor as it is his second time this season to be sent down.

Also Carlos Villanueva has been shutdown because of basically a dead arm and he will be replaced by Luis Perez who will come in and hopefully get back to the way he was pitching initially when he came up as it looked like he had some struggles after the league saw him once. This means that Perez hopefully figured out how to mix up his pitches a little as a long reliever to keep the opponents off guard and he might be able to do this.

Lawrie has arrived
