Blue Jays do not come ready to play the lowly Royals as they lose the opener

So Brandon Morrow pitched a 1-2-3 first inning but then in the second inning he started to leave pitches up and even though the Royals have lost way more than they have won but like most players in the majors get hittable pitches even when its coming at them @ 97 miles an hour so the first 5 batters reached base before getting an out which included a lead off homer by Eric Hosmer to go with RBI singles by Johnny Giavotella and Salvador Perez to give the Royals a quick 3-0 lead. Then in the fifth inning after Morrow worked through the third and fourth inning without given up a run he ended up given up 3 more run before leaving the game including a Billy Butler solo homer, Johnny Giavotella RBI double, and a Salvador Perez RBI triple to give the Royals a 6-0 lead after 5 innings. Brandon Morrow who throws fast and hard through 4.2 inning pitched and gave up 6 runs on 11 hits with a walk and 5 Ks in what is one of his worst outings on the season and now is 9 and 8 on the season.

Then there was the soft throwing Bruce Chen who has pitched for more teams than Brett Farve has begged to let him be their quarterback and he has been a starter, a reliever, and now a starter again and the Jays the first time through the order the Jays were not able to get a hit and even worst Chen does not strike out batters and in the second and third with his mid 80's fastball the same speed as his other pitches and maxed out at 88 struck out 5 batters. Yunel Escobar loved hitting against Chen as he broke a 0 for 15 streak and had two of the Jays 4 hits in the game including a three run homer to cut the lead in half 6-3 after 6 innings and instead the team hit more like Jose Bautista who went 0 for 3 against Chen with 2 of his 3 strike outs against him too. The Jays had something going again in the ninth against Royals closer Joakim Soria as Thames doubled and scored on an Adam Lind RBI single but that is as close as they would get as the Royals win 6-4.

Wil Ledezma made relief appearance since being called up again a gave up a hit in his inning pitched with a K but it was Joel Carreno made his debut and pitched 3.1 innings pitched gave up 4 hits and 2 Ks which are some bright spots along with Eric Thames for ever assist nailing Mike Moustakas at second to lead off the fourth inning.

Jays need to wake up and be ready for the final two games of this series
