So through 5 innings played and Reds had 2 hits and Jose Bautista had a hit with extra help for the Reds starter Mike Leake and Blue Jays starter Jo Jo Reyes as in the infield there were pigeons/seagulls just walking around eating grass seeds. Then in the top of the sixth inning with Jo Jo Reyes woke up the Jays bats by singling through the infield for the Jays second hit on the evening and but got no further than first base. In the bottom of the sixth inning with one out and Drew Stubbs at the plate for the Reds and he hit a ball very deep and Cory Patterson the center fielder was trying to get in position to catch the ball but Jose Bautista came in behind him and neither was able to catch the ball and it bounced off the wall and because they were in such a small area that it took them a long time to get the ball into the infield and by this time Drew Stubbs rounded all the bases for an inside the park home run. With Reds up 1-0 going into the seventh inning and Cory Patterson lead off the inning and Mike Leake hit his back leg and while Jose Bautista was at the plate Patterson stole second to try and make up for his part of the mistake and then Jose Bautista got his second hit of the game which was a double to make up for his part of the mistake and Patterson scored. Then Adam Lind hit his 15 homer of the season to give the Jays a 3-1 going into the bottom of the inning and with one out Scott Rolen hit his first homer since April 8 and his third on the season to make it 3-2 Jays.
So Jo Jo Reyes pitched 6.1 innings of 2 run on 6 hits with 5 Ks and no walks when he left there were 2 singles on with one out and Octavio Dotel came in and got a fly ball to Bautista and that was followed by a ground out to Johnny Mac who stepped onto the base to the end the inning. Then he came out for the eighth inning and struck out the first 2 batters of the inning and that brought Joey Votto to the plate and Marc Rzepczynski came in to face him and Marc got him to ground out to Arron Hill to end the inning. In the ninth inning Frank Francisco came in and he struck out Jay Bruce and then Scott Rolen came to the plate and J.P. had a great framing job on a called third strike and then after Fred Lewis came off the bench and singled but then Francisco got Ryan Hanigan to fly out to Jose Bautista to end the game. It was the best relief outing for the bullpen in a while as they only gave up the single hit by Fred Lewis in the 2.2 innings pitched.
Bautista 1, Votto 0
