Bad news for Brett Lawrie

Just hours away from getting off the 7 day DL in the minors and getting on a plane to either Kansas City or Toronto to meet up with the big Birds and start his major league career as he was just waiting for the swelling to go down but instead after a x-ray and a MRI on the left hand had shown nothing wrong the Jays decided to get a CAT - scan done where sadly they found a non-displaced fracture to a bone in the back of his left hand. He will miss 3 weeks of action to recover from this fracture and then will have to work back in Las Vegas to get his swing back into the groove before being able to get his major league career started around the all-star break as at the earliest he will get back into game action at the beginning of July and with at least a week of triple A appearances it put him in position to come up with the Jays the week before the all-star break.
