Jeremy Guthrie got two fly outs to Adam Jones in the first and with 2 outs pitched around Jose Bautista like most pitchers would but then Adam Lind and Arron Hill collected singles and the latter scored Jose Bautista but it did not last long as Robert Andino and Adam Jones singled around a Nick Markakis fly out and then Vladimir Guerrero doubled in run with his 10th double of the season while Derek Lee grounded out to Jayson Nix to give the Orioles a 2-1 lead after one inning. In the third with one out Cory Patterson singled and then Guthrie pitched around Jose Bautista where Adam Lind singled in Patterson to tie the game at 2 going into the fourth inning. In the fourth inning was turned on it ear as Edwin Encarnacion singled and Jose Molina walked around a Rajai Davis fly out and then after a Jayson Nix popped to Derek Lee at first for out number 2 Yunel Escobar popped his 7th homer to give the Jays a 5-2 lead and in the fifth after Bautista flied out Adam Lind flied a solo shot into the right field seats to make it 6-2 Jays. In the bottom of the inning Jo Jo Reyes gave up a single to Craig Tatum which snapped a streak of 8 Orioles retired in a row and a double to Robert Andino put runners on second and third with one out and then Nick Markakis sent a sac fly to Cory Patterson to make it 6-3 Jays after 5 innings. With two outs in the seventh Adam Lind came back to the plate and hit his second solo shot in the game and 9th on his shortened season and it was 7-3 Jays so that meant Adam Lind ended the game 4 for 4 with 2 singles and 2 homers along with 3 RBIs. In the bottom of the ninth Mark Reynolds hit his 9th home run of Jon Rauch but at least it was a solo shot to make it 7-4 which is completely different than the grand salami he hit last night in a 5-3 Orioles as the Jays won the rubber match 7-3.
Jo Jo Reyes had trouble in the first as 3 of the first 4 orioles hitters reached base but only gave up 2 runs and sailed into the fifth where he gave up three straight hits and gave up a run and he left the game pitching 6.1 innings given up 3 runs on 5 hits but also gave up 4 walks and had 3 Ks while picking up his second straight victory. The only batter reaching bases off the bullpen was the Mark Reynolds homer and walk to Matt Wieters which was a strong showing of 2.2 innings put together especially by Casey Janssen (0.2 inning) and Jason Frasor (1 inning) of no base runner ball and Jon Rauch (1 inning) got through the ninth. While Jeremy Guthrie just did not have it given 9 hits and 3 walks over 5 innings so with a double play and force out after hit he allowed 12 hitters reach base and 13 batters did not reach base which is a horrible average and it shows why he is 2 - 8 so great job by the Jays hitters to get the Job done especially Adam Lind who showed your going to pay if U pitch around Jose Bautista.
Jays win series against Orioles and now need to do the same to the Royals in the upcoming 4 game series
