Blue Jays young guns win it in 11

The Jays were ahead of the Chisoxs 2-1 thanks to Moses Sierra first ever major league homer in the bottom of the seventh but in the ninth inning Adam Dunn on Casey Janssen's first pitch over the left field fence and unlike yesterday Rajai Davis was not able to bring it back for Dunn's second homer of the game. In extra innings after Steve Delbar in the 10 inning became the first Jays to ever to strike out 4 in an inning as he struck out Tyler Flowers for the second of the inning on a curve and it got away from Jeff Mathis and Flowers was safe at first and then k'd Gordon Beckham and Alejandro De Aza to end the inning. He struck out two more in the 11th for 6 in the two extra innings and got got the putout at first from David Cooper who grabbed the ground ball of Adam Dunn. In the bottom of the 11th David Cooper came through for the Jays as it was runners on the corners after Kelly Johnson walked with one out and Edwin Encarnacion singled him to third which lead to Coopers single to a very busy Alex Rios who made great plays in right field but was unable to get to the ball and the Jays won the game 4-3 in 11. The starters were solid for both teams as Carlos Villanueva went 7 outstanding innings with a walk and 8 ks and it was the longest outing as a Jay and he had a problem with Adam Dunn as he had two of the Soxs 5 hits and until the fourth Villanueva had only given up a walk to Kevin Youkilis and then retired 9 straight batters. In the fourth inning Adam Dunn got a little hungry and hit a ball almost into the restaurant for his first homer of the game and is now the home run leader with 33. Jake Peavy went a strong 8 innings as he gave up two runs on 5 hits with two walks and 6 ks and it was Moses Sierra who was his problem child as Sierra reached base three times as he walked, singled, and homer against Peavy. In the third inning Peavy was his own worst enemy as he hit both Anthony Gose and Kelly Johnson before Edwin Encarnacion hit a two out RBI single to put the Jays up 1-0 and then both Johnson and Encarnacion were both caught in run downs with Johnson finally getting tagged out. Brandon Morrow looks to be getting two more double A starts before returning to the Jays Tom Mehegan
