Blue Jays ran early but still got swept away
Henderson Alvarez and the Blue Jays continued their disastrous trips to St. Petersburg Florida and it was a good first inning for Alvarez with only give a single but in the second inning Ben Zobrist reached on an error on Edwin Encarnacion who tried to scoop the ball to Alvarez before he had it on what would of been a bang bang play and it was beginning of the end for the Jays as after Carlos Pena grounded out for the first out things fell the railings. as he allowed 13 of the next 21 batters to reach base and when the Jays finally opened their eyes and looked at the score board it read 6 runs 11 hits with two outs in the fourth inning and he was credited with 4 earned runs as Edwin's error cost him to extras runs and 3 walks did not help him at all.
When it was all said and done Evan Longoria had three hits and 2 RBIs and in the bottom of the eighth he and Joel Madden held up the game in a 7-1 victory where Madden asked the umps to review Evan third hit of the game that went off the top of the wall and stayed in and the ump actually reviewed the call underneath and it was called a double. Jeff Keppinger had three hits and Jose Lobaton had two hits and three RBIs in the game.
The Jays got on the starter early and this time it was Matt Moore with Rajai Davis leading off with a double and stole third and with one out and Edwin Encarnacion at first on a walk Moore was charged with a balk that brought in Rajai for the only run of the game and Edwin stole third and Yunel Escobar hit a ball to Keppinger at third who got Edwin at home and that was all the offense the Jays got. Moses Sierra single to open the second and he stole second but then Moore retired the next 14 straight and 15 of 16 when he left after sixth innings of one run on two hits with two walks and 6ks and the Jays picked up their third and ginal hit in the ninth inning Davisd cooper had a double.
The game ended with fireworks as Rajai Davis was hit in the top of the eighth by J.P Howell and in the bottom of the inning Casey Janssen hit Matt Joyce may of cost the Jays as he throw 12 more pitches to get the final out of the inning.
Brett Lawrie is on the DL and should be not rushed back
