Johnny MacDonald have been playing in the MLB in 1999 and played his first 6 seasons with the Cleveland Indians and played the Blue Jays in 2005 before being traded to the Detroit Tigers at the trade deadline period. Then since 2006 when he came back to the Blue Jays he has played for the Blue Jays and has been a local sports icon and if he was able to hit better than he has as he is usually hitting in the .250 area code ever since 2006 expect 2006 when he hit .223 and in 2008 when he hit .210 he would definitely be a gold glove candidate. This is because Johnny Mac has been a great defensive infielder especially playing second base or shortstop as he is magical double play set up guy and takes hits away from the hitters and helps the young pitcher's confidence and he also been playing third base especially in the 2011 taken the place of Edwin Encarnacion which betters the Jays defense. He has a career high in homers with 6 in 2010 and except for his 20 doubles in 2007 he has not gotten double digits in doubles in any of his seasons with the Blue Jays along with 3 triples being the most in his career.
Johnny Mac has been a great player for the Jays and the city of Toronto has been very good to Johnny Mac and it has been a very strong relationship and both sides have gotten the best out of each other as Johnny Mac has been a great defensive infielder while the fans have been cheering him on. If Johnny Mac keeps playing hard for the Blue Jays for 2 more seasons or something he probably be up for a spot on the Blue Jays wall of excellence for his outstanding infield defense.
Johnny Mac U R awesome
