Game 54 - 28 - 26 - Jo Jo Reyes finishes what he starts as the Jays smoke the Tribe in opener

Jo Jo Reyes started and finished the game for the Blue Jays which is the first time in his major league career that he has recorded a complete game and also did something tonight that he had not done in 1081 days or in his last 28 starts which was a win as a starter as the Blue Jays humiliated the tribe 11-1. Jo Jo gave up 1 run on 8 hits with walks and 4 Ks and before tonight his last win as a starter was on June 13,2008 when his Atlanta Braves at the time traveled to meet the California Angels of Anaheim. So that monkey is off the back of Reyes and lets see if his luck changes even though when Brett Cecil is brought back up from the farm along with Jesse Litsch Jo Jo will be put in the bullpen and if he focus a 3 or 4 inning outings he maybe a more successful long reliever and can be useful to the Jays in this situation.

The bottom of the Blue Jays order came through for them as Eric thames had a 2 hit game and scored twice while Rajai Davis had a 2 run double to go with his 3 hit game and scored all 3 times he reached base and then Jayson Nix had only a single hit and it was a big one as it was a 2-run homer (3) as he opened the scoring for the Jays in the bottom of third inning to make it 2-0. After a Shelley Duncan homer in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to 2-1 Rajai Davis double made it 4-1 to start a 7 run bottom of the fourth inning and wheels fell completely off for the Tribe when second baseman Orlando Cabrera tried to toss the ball hit by Cory Patterson to get Yunel Escobar at second but dropped the ball as Eric Thames scored. Then as Cabrera had his back turned to the plate he bowed his head embarrassment Rajai Davis scored as the ball just laid behind second base to make it 6-1. Then Bautista had a 2-run double to make it 8-1 and J.P. finished off the inning with a sac fly to score Bautista and made it 9-1 but the Jays were not over in the fifth Yunel Escobar singled in Thames and Cory Patterson had a sac fly to score Rajai Davis to make it 11-1.

The Jays have done what they should of been doing all month which is win the games at home as they have won 4 in a row but are 15-12 at home which is a far cry from the Tribes 19-6 home record so the Jays need to continue piling up wins at the Roger Center to stay in the AL race as long as possible. If I am not mistaken Jesse Litsch can come off the DL on Thursday and might make that start or will get a Las Vegas start and I am also to understand that Adam Lind might be rejoining the Jays this weekend in Baltimore as the Jays will be facing the Orioles so that will mean that Edwin Encarnacion will be sent for assignment for Lind and Luis Lopez will be sent back to make room for Litsch and Villenuva will be put back in the pen as the long reliever.

Lets see if the Jays can make it 5 in a row
