David Price had a dominating performance and pitched 8.2 innings and gave up a single run on 4 hits with no walks but did struck out 10 batters while Kyle Drabek pitched 5.2 innings pitched while given up 3 earned runs on 6 hits along with 4 walks but only struck out 3 batters.
Kyle Drabek run into trouble in the 3 inning where Sean Rodriguez and John Jaso both doubled to open the inning and it was 1-0 Rays but then John Jaso scored when Johnny Damon got a ground ball single to third baseman Mike McCoy along with Ben Zobrist on a Matt Joyce sac fly and the Rays took a 3-0 lead. David Price got 24 of the first 26 batters and then in the 9 inning the Jays got to him as Johnny Mac lead off with a ground ball and was safe at first and went to second on a 2 base throwing error Sean Rodriguez and then with one out Cory Patterson grounds out for the second out but Johnny Mac scored the only run and then Kyle Farnsworth came in and Yunel Escobar single and moved to second on indifference but Adam Lind grounded out to first base to end the game.
The Jays started well on the road trip (4-1) but crawled back home (1-4) and a 500 road trip is positive but it could of been better but the Jays now come hom for 3 against Tigers and 2 games against the Red Sox and it will be important that the Jays need to get on a row and go 4-1 on this home stand. Tomorrow's starters are for the Tigers Phil Coke (1-4, 450) and for the Jays Jesse Litsch (2-2, 460).
Jays attack Tigers early and often
