Blue Jays - 13 - 16 - Jon Rauch blows a great pitching performances by the other pitchers

So to begin it looks like Jose Bautista will miss the series against the Tampa Bay Rays with what is being reported as a tight neck and he will be undergoing a MRI today so there no timetable set yet for his return until the result comes back on the MRI.

The Jays took a 2-1 lead into the 9 inning with help from Jo Jo Reyes who pitched 6 innings and gave up an earned run on 4 hits and a walk which was followed by a hitless inning pitched by both Shawn Camp and Marc Rzepczynski but in the 9 inning Jon Rauch came in to try get his 6 save of the season but after Brent Zobrist got a soft hit after Rauch throw 3 balls in his first 4 pitches. Then B.J. Upton slammed a 0-1 pitch over the fence and the Rays won 3-2 and now the Blue Jays are in the basement in the AL East with a record of 13 - 16.

The Jays got a run in the first inning when Adam Lind singled through the infield and Cory Patterson scored and the Jays lead 1-0 and then in the second inning the Rays tied up the game as Kelly Shoppach singled in Sean Rodiguez. In the top of the 4 inning Edwin Encarnacion had his first of two double of the game to give him 10 on the season scored J.P. and it gave the Jays that 2-1 lead that they held until Jon Rauch lost his second loss of the season and I believe it was his first blown save of the season as he was 5 for 5 in April so lets hope this is not the beginning of bad closing efforts in May as he has been solid coming into this outing and this is going to be the first real test of his closer demeanor.

The Jays had a tough lose and have now lost 3 in a row and 4 of their last 5 games and that means the Jays need a big performance from starting pitcher Brandon Morrow who has had 2 great starts so far but is still looking for his first win of the season and he will be facing Jeff Niemann tomorrow.

Hope for more Jays runs tomorrow
