Rajai Davis in the third inning lead off with his first of four hits which was a songle and was able to score on a Cory Patterson base hit to tie the game at 1 and Johnny Mac hit his second homer of the season to open up a 3-1 Jays lead in the fourth inning and it was only beginning for these two. As Rajai Davis followed Mac with a line drive single and created a run all by himself by stealing second (# 10) and then stole third (# 11) and ran home on a sac fly by Yunel Escobar to make it 4-1.
Jesse Litsch was solid and kept the Jays in the lead as after double by Adrian Gonzalez and a RBI by Kevin Youkilis in the first inning he kept the Red Soxs off the scoreboard until the 6 inning where he meet Adrian Gonzalez again who with one out smacked his 7 homer of the season and third in the last 2 games. Then with 2 outs Big Papi stepped to the plate and drilled his 6 homer of the season on Litsch's last pitch of the game and then Casey Janssen came in to face J.D. Drew who flied out to Rajai Davis in center field to end the inning and the Jays went into the 7 inning with a 4-3 lead when Jarrod Saltalamacchia with Carl Crawford at first crushed a ball into the 5 deck but thankfully for Casey Janssen it pulled way foul and the Jays went into the bottom of the 7 inning with the 4-3 lead intact.
In the bottom of the 7 inning Johnny Mac came up with the bases loaded and got only the Jays second hit with the bases load this season which was a 2 run double to give the Jays a 7-3 and gave Mac 3 RBIs which was followed by Rajai Davis's 4 hit of the game was a 2 run single to make it 9-3 Jays and that is how it finished as the Jays swept away the Red Soxs and ended the 6 game home stand 3 and 3 which should of been better but it is hopefully the beginning of something good for the Jays.
Jesse Litsch pitched 5.2 innings and gave up 3 runs on 6 hits and a walk along with 4 strike outs while Boston starter John Lackey pitched 6.2 innings and gave up 9 runs on 9 hits with 5 walks and a strike out in front of just over 19 thousand tonight and 36 thousand over the two game series which is likely a single game attendance against the Soxs later in the season.
