Blue Jays - 13 - 15 - David Cooper gets his first hit but Jesse Litsch struggles through the 5 inning

Jays starting pitcher throw one pitch that hurt him in the first 4 innings of the game and that was a curve ball that Mark Teixeira powered to deep center field to give the Yankees an early 1-0 on his 7th homer of the season. The Jays then tied the game on Adam Lind's 5 homer of the season but with David Cooper first hit and a walk on with one out Ivan Nova was able to get out of the inning without given the Jays the lead. Then he was not as lucky in the third as the Jays took the lead as a Rajai Davis's walk came around on a Jose Bautista's ground out and the Jays lead 2-1 and Ivan Nova struggled though 6.1 innings as he gave up 6 hits and 4 walks but did not give up another run in the game while striking out 5 batters. Then Jesse Litsch hit the 5 inning and it was like a brick wall as Jorge Posada lead off with a double, Brett Gardner singled, Francisco Cervelli ground out and Posada scored, Derek Jeter got a fielders choice, and it was runners on the corners when Curtis Granderson came to the plate and smacked his 8th homer of the season which gave the Yankees a 5-2 lead and win. After Jesse Litsch's 6 innings of 6 hits with 2 walks along with 5 strike outs the bullpen came in and shut down the Yankees but the Yankees bullpen shut down the Blue Jays as well so the Yankees took 2 of 3 from the Jays and the Jays are now 4-3 so far on the 10 game road trip with the last stop 3 in Tampa starting on Tuesday against the soaring Rays who have won 14 of their last 19 games.

The Starters for Tuesday are Jo Jo Reyes (0-2, 5.48 ERA) Vs Wade Davis (3-2, 2.73 ERA)
