Brett Lawrie is now in Dunedin Blue Jays and has played four games and in the first 3 games he is 1 for 8 with a RBI along with a K and his most recent game he played he got plunked in both of his two at bats. So this means that he will be set back maybe a couple of days and probably will not be moved up to Las Vegas until maybe this weekend or next week depending if he can get his bat speed faster.
On Thursday Kyle Drabek had another rotten start as gave up 6 runs (5 earned) on 6 hits with a walk and a K over 3 innings and maybe injured himself but may not miss a start and the sadist part is that he had a 3 run on 8 hits along with 8 Ks and a walk over 6 inning game and a run on 6 hits along with 3 Ks over 6 inning game which the two games before Thursday game. It could be a while for Drabek who should be still working on things most likely mid-August or a September call up.
Dustin McGowan has now have four rehab starts after being not able to pitch for over a year and after a .2 inning of 3 earned runs on 3 hits with a walk and a K the last 3 starts of a 2 inning no hit with 2 walks and 2 Ks, a run on 2 hits with a K over 2 inning, and a 1 hit shutout with a walk and 3 Ks. McGowen has a lot of work to do and the most important thing for him is to go into the off-season so that he will be able to work through the off-season and maybe able to put his best foot forward in spring training and maybe up with the Jays by the end of next season.
Brad Mills has been the best pitcher in Las Vegas with his 3.71 ERA with a complete game and a 3 to 1 Ks to walks (105 Ks to 32 walks) with 51 earned runs in 123.1 innings and 19 starts. Then his last start on last night as he had a no-hitter going into the eighth inning and ended up a hit through eighth inning with 2 walks and 6 Ks. He maybe given an opportunity as a September call up and he maybe able to have his major league debut as he was called up earlier this season but was not used in the game.
