The Jays plsyed the first of three games in Arlington and it was 98 degrees at the time of the first pitch and the only thing hotter than the weather was Nelson Cruz who was 4 of 4 with a homer and 8 RBIs as he had a three-run homer, a RBI double, and a two-run single. While former Blue Jays prospect Michael Young was 4 for 4 with a RBI and scored 4 runs and these two Rangers accounted for 9 of the 12 RBIs and had 8 of the teams 13 hits.
The Rangers over the first 5 innings had 8 runs on 9 hits as they faced Jo Jo and Shawn Camp while Rangers pitcher Colby Lewis had allowed 2 walks in the first 5 innings of the game and Rangers defense was solid as Josh Hamilton went a long way for a catch while Adrian Beltre made a huge play but then left the game later a hamstring injury. While J.P. had a up and down game as he missed played a wild pitch as it was a K but the hitter Elvis Andrus reached first with no throw and then trying to throw out a runner at second and it went into the outfield and the runner advances on the error and he also struck out. So with a batting average he then hit a aolo homer in back-to-back at bats to give him 14 on the season and the Rangers take a game one 12-2 and for the Jays it is a result that need not remember the game.
The Jays need to turn it around tomorrow
