Ricky Romero in front of over 45,000 went 1,2,3 with the Yankees bats and then Yunel Escobar had a RBI single in the bottom of the first to give the Jays an early 1-0 lead but then in the top of the second Romero had his defense fail him as Rajai Davis missed read a Nick Swisher ground-rule double as he came in a step and then had high tail it back and could not recover and Andrew Jones had a RBI single to drive him in Brett Gardiner laced a double down the first baseline and Eduardo Nunez drove in with a ground out and a 2-1 lead after 2 innings. In the third inning Arron Hill had Robinson Cano in a run down after a Romero wild pitch and he saw Curtis Granderson going home and throw him and would of had him except that he overthrow J.P. which was an unearned run and it was 3-1 and then in the fourth Yunel Escobar went a long way to left and then had a jumping turn and throw to first to get Derek Jeter but instead he overthrow Adam Lind and a run scored to make it 4-1 as Jeter got a RBI single.
Then there was C C Sabathia had the first inning only gave up a single to Adam Lind in the fourth and an eighth inning double by Johnny Mac and he gave up a run on 3 hits over his 8 innings pitched with 8 Ks as he continued his dominance of the Blue Jays and now is 11-3 in 14 career starts against the Blue Jays and now has 14 wins on his season. Marion Rivera came in and made it interesting given up 2 hits before he was able to put the game away for the Yankees and picked up his 23 save on the season.
Now the Jays need to put this behind them and get ready for Phil Hughes tomorrow to try to win the series
