Edwin Encaracion hits homer into Roger Centre Restaurant
Early for the Jays it looked extremely disappointing as they were given gifts from Ubaldo Jimenez who walked four over the first two innings but the Jays only mustard one hit from Adam Lind who had a two-run double in the first inning and it looked bad when Bastista showed up the home plate ump on a 3-1 count and it was called a strike and thankfully he walked on the next pitch and scored on the Lind double.
In the third inning with 13-year-old Taylor from London doing the PA announcing apart of the the Jays kid Saturday promotion and it sparked an outburst by the Jays bats as they enjoyed having Taylor announcing that they went through the batting order one and a half times in the inning. It started with a Bautista double and was driven home by Edwin Encarnacion 24 homer of the season and after a Lind single he was driven home by a Yunel Escobar two-run homer and then after Rajai Davis struck out it was a double derby as Kelly Johnson, J.P. Arencibia, and Brett Lawrie went back-to-back-to-back with doubles. Then after a Colby Rasmus strike out Bautista and Encarnacion both walked and Adam Lind put the cherry on top of a 8 run on 8 hits with 6 extra base hits (four doubles and 2 homers) in the third inning as he had his third a two-run double and was three for three during the first three inning with four RBIs.
When Edwin Encaracion hit his second homer in the game for his ninth time in his career in the fifth with a solo shot given the paying customers in the Rogers Centre restaurant a little something extra as it landed in the restaurant just like Carlos Delgado Jose Canseco have done is the past and put the Jays up 11-4. It looked like it was over especially after Aaron Loup faced 6 batters and retired them all but then Jesse Chavez came in and challenged the Indians batters and lost as he faced four batters and gave up three hits and a walk including two two-run homers and is on the first flight to Vegas which for Jays is not a good thing #triple A. It made it a lot closer than it needed to be and Andrew Carpenter came in and was hit and miss as he walked two along with a strike out and a foul ball pop up. Casey Janssen who should of not had to work today but came in and got the final four outs after given up a RBI single to Travis Hafner to make the final 11-9 as Janssen was strong and is 13 of 13 as Jays closer and got a great catch from Rajai Davis.
Arron Laffy did not pitch as well as he had before but in the strange game of baseball he picked up his first win as a Jay against the team that drafted him as he pitched 5 innings and gave up 4 runs on 8 hits with three walks and got a great throw by Rajai Davis who throw out the runner at the plate to end the fifth inning.
