Carlos Villanueva keeps the Royals off balanced
Carlos Villanueva kept the Royals off balanced in his six innings of work where he shut them down on 4 hits and did not allow a run to score a run and he only faced 21 batters and he reached his career high of 7 Ks. He got great defense behind him with a great double play started with Kelly Johnson throwing to Yunel Escobar who stepped on the base and then flew into the air and got it to Encarnacion at first. He only gave up 3 singles and a double and the Bullpen of Jason Frasor, Darren Oliver, and Casey Janssen finished off the 4-1 victory and the only reason why the Royals got on the board when Rajai Davis did not position himself properly and should of gotten in front of the ball when Jeff Francoeur hit a triple with two outs bringing in Mike Moustakas.
The Jays collected 12 hits and all the Jays collected a hit in the game and moved up on a lot of fly balls including Kelly Johnson, Yunel Escobar, and Rajai Davis all had a Sac fly RBI and they drove in the first 3 runs of the game and Colby Rasmus who started the seventh inning with a single and moved up on back-to-back fly ball outs and then scored on a Yunel Escobar single and he was the last Jays to get a hit and he got two RBIs in the game. Jose Bautista had two singles in the game but in the second inning he came up with bases loaded and he struck out and he could of put the game out of hand and it is very interesting that he has hit .190 with the bases loaded in his career. Brett Lawrie had two singles to go with his three strike outs in the game and Edwin Encaracion also had two singles as well.
Jays start the second half on the right foot
