Jays beat Soxs 6-1 behing great D and early runs

Arron Laffy was a natural at Fenway park and Travis Snider in his first game in the 2012 season looked like a pro in left field as he took two balls off the green monster made sure they were only singles. Arron Laffy pitched 7 outstanding innings against the always dangerous bats of the Red Soxs in a 6-1 Jays victory where Laffy gave up 8 singles and no walks while 4ks in seven scoreless innings as he needed only 88 pitches in the game and finished seven innings for the tenth time in his 53 career start and it even more impressive against the Red Soxs. Colby Rasmus had a triple in first to get things rolling in the first as he scored the first of two runs in the first inning even though it does not look like he actually touches the plate and in the second he picked up a two-run double for his two hits and 2 RBIs. Adam Lind picked up two more singles as he is now hitting .239 while picking up a RBI in the five inning to make it 5-0 and Edwin Encarnacion and J.P. Arencibia both picked up RBIs in the first and collect a single in the game. The Boys are back in town and Snider along with in get defensive picked up a double off the monster in the ninth and scored on Yan Gomez RBI double that made it 6-0 and Anthony Gose walked twice and struck out twice and is maybe not ready with the bat but he is trying and doing well in right field. The Red Soxs had 9 singles which is hard to believe as they crush the competition with extra base hits especially doubles and Mike Aviles had a RBI ground out in the ninth inning. Will Middlebrooks and Kevin Shoppach both had two singles and Josh Beckett pitched 6 innings but gave up 5 of his 7 hits and 2 of his three walks while allowing 4 of his 5 runs in the first two innings and just could not get himself out of that ditch. Brett Lawrie says he will be in the lineup tomorrow Tom Mehegan
