Jays finally had some fun in Atlanta

The Jays did not have much fun going into Atlanta as they had only scored 7 runs in their last 5 games in Atlanta and had lost their last 8 games there and tonight game did not start fun for the Jays either as Ricky Romero throw 69 pitches over his four inning outing as he throw only 39 strikes and 30 balls. He gave up 4 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits and walked two batters and a k while the Jays bats were being eaten up by Braves pitcher Julio Teheran who only gave up an Edwin Encarnacion single over the first four inning. Then things got a lot of fun that Ricky Romero was replaced by pinch hitter Yan Gomez with the bases juiced and it started 5 straight RBI hits as the Jays put up 6 runs in the fifth inning and took a 6-4 lead as Julio Teheran gave up 3 hits and a walk to the five batters he faced while Livan Hernandez came in and gave up four straight hits to start his outing. The Jays continued to enjoy themselves in the sixth inning with another 3 runs as Brett Lawrie hit a two-run homer after Carlos Villanueva got two hits in the inning as the third base ump was shocked that Villanueva hit a ball fair down the line that he called it foul even though the ball went over the base in fair territory but then got a looping single. In the seventh inning he put up two more runs and through the fifth and seventh inning they hit .737 (14 of 19 with a walk and a sac fly). The Jays finished off the scoring by put up another run in the eighth and the Jays won the game 12-4 and had 18 hits in the game which is a season high and Carlos Villanueva won his first game of the season after pitching two innings and gave up two singles and a walk in his appearance and he used up a lot of pitches in the middle of the sixth inning as he throw 7 straight pitches for balls as he throw 30 pitches and 16 for strikes. The Jays got 3 hits from Colby Rasmus who had a two-run single and a solo homer while Brett Lawrie had two hits including a two-run homer and RBI single so both had 3 RBIs in the game. The Jays had 11 different hitters getting hits in the game which included three hits from Edwin Encarnacion and two hits from Kelly Johnson while the No. 9 hitters in the game combined 4 hits in the game. The Jays who came into this game the Jays had struggled with runners in scoring position as they went 1 for 19 in the last two games and today they started 6 of 7 with runners in scoring position and finished the game hitting 7 of 14 with Runners in scoring position. the Harper and Lawrie begins tomorrow at the Rogers Centre for two nights and a day game series finisher with Stephen Strasburg Tom Mehegan
