Blue Jays should fund research for pitching injury
With four starters in a couple of weeks going down with an injury and three of them with the same injury which is an elbow injury with Kyle Drabek going in the Tommy John route. While Drew Hutchison has avoided surgery but he has been told to not pickup a ball for 4-6 weeks and that means that he will be rehabbing for the same amount of time and will be likely pitching for the Jays in September. Brandon Morrow and now Henderson Alvarez are put on the DL and have no idea of when either one will be able to pitch again for the Jays.
The Jays injuries have now made them hit the bottom of the barrel in their pitching with Scott Richmond being called up and Jamie Moyer who is 49-years-old and released by two major league teams in the first 2 and a half month of the 2012 MLB season.
So the Jays real needs to invest in some research into what is creating all these pitcher's injury and the best way to try and prevent their pitchers from being sidelined with massive shoulder injuries and with them not able to get the top free agents on the market they should put their money into keeping their prospect healthy. I think if they put up lets say 2-3 million dollars for a beginner program an see they could find if pitchers are being treated in wrong way that is making it easier for them to suffer an injury. If they can fix it and make their pitcher prospects stronger it would be an extremely valuable asset to the Jays and would give them a much needed advantage over the other major league team as nobody is doing this research.
Great chance to get ahead Jays
