Drew Hutchison two years later
Drew Hutchison on Friday June 15, 2012 after Brandon Morrow (injured again) and Kyle Drabek (not made it back YET!!!!!) both got injured earlier in that week stepped on the mound and shortly had to have the trainer visit him on the mound and was taken out of the game with a shoulder injury. It was not any shoulder injury but it sent he to the dl and the Tommy John surgery and then spent almost two years battling back to the majors.
Drew has not only how tough and mental strong he is by battling back from injury but also when he is on mound as he has 25 career starts and a 10-7 record. It is a very good sign when he has bettered Justin Verlander and Yu Darvish on the road and has bettered both of them and beat them both.
He has not been as good at home with a 1 and 3 record with a nightmare 8.72 ERA is 5 starts and it maybe the idea that it was the Rogers Centre mound that he was injured on and it maybe in his head a little. On the road he is 4-1 with a 1.79 ERA which is awesome as he has pitched almost twice as much on the road (9-5) as at home.
He also has that bulldog mentality that Jays pitchers like Mark Buehrle and former jays like Roy Halladay and Dave Steib that just takes the ball and if u want to get them out of the game u would need to subdue them first and will hopefully be the next great Jays starter.
Drew Hutchison is only 23 years old
